[cnn-photo-caption image=http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/01/02/liveblogfinal.copy.jpg]

Tonight on 360°, the story of how a young American from Long Island, New York, became an al-Qaeda terrorist. Nic Robertson and his team spent almost a year uncovering how and why Bryant Neal Vinas went from a quiet teenager who grew up in suburbia to a jihadist. Our team has tracked Vinas’ story across three continents.

Here are some of them:

1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

Unfortunately, it is only a matter of time when one of the "home grown terrorists" will succeed. Then what? It is a serious problem and I feel there is no way to stop it.

In the midst of yet another disastrous oil spill disaster where are all the 'Drill Baby Drill' leaders. Guess having tea at another Tea Party.

Does anyone remember FDR was born in Canada?
And, Senator McCain was born in Panama?

I don't know why a man would give up his career with a court martial when he could have resigned.
I believe that McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone. What about people born in Hawaii before it was a state. What about people born in the territories, are they natural born citizens?

Nic Robertson could have put his time to better use by investigating the life and actions of Nadal Malik Hasan. He wasn't just some kid from the suburbs, he was a major in the army. I am more interested in what turned him into a killer?

I can't believe you are giving more air time to these nut job birthers your guests got it rght. If these wingnuts had the birth certificate intheir handsand were forced to eat it, they still would not conceed the
President's citizenship. That's because that is not the question. When these bigots admit that they just can't stomach the fact that a Black man–an educated, honest, just man–is their President. Please stop giving these racist, duplicitous, certifiably insane numbnuts air time. It is feeding their delusion. What a waste of good air time!! I appreciate your dedication to honesty. Don't give these liars another minute. I'll vote to strip that doctor of his license. He is not worthy of the public trust!

I actually feel sorry for the Lt. Col. It seems like he allowed his hatred or racism (whichever) to cloud his view. Then you add idiots like his lawyer to the equation and you get an explosive piece of nonsense. He looked like he did not even know what his argument was. Poor idiot! losing your job over that piece of foolishness!

Great explanation of what's going on with the ice crystals by Tom Foreman way more complicated than I imagined.

The junk shot is one possiblity but what about the top hat, something like the containment dome? Is that going to be lowered to try to plug the leak or is that vulnerable to the fire ice too?

Can't they just lower an intake pipe or somekind and suck up the oil spurting out of the well head?

Glad to see the dow up. Given all the hardship that is caused when it's gains get lost.

@Emily, Minnesota I agree that was a great interview and I love Anderson's interviews too, but I wonder with all the serious news pending, an oil spill that could devastate gulf wildlife, shore and fishing, recovery from TN flooding, inclement weather, tornadoes in Oklahoma, EU plan to help ease debt burden of EU countries like Greece, a new Supreme Court nominee if precious air time is being lost and the birthers are just engaging in a political stall tactic. What do you think?

I'm not sure if it's society at its worse, lisal, but you don't have to be a celebrity to be the victim of a home invasion or theft. Unfortunately.

@Lynn ~ "The plan" was blown off because it cost oil companies extra to have emergency provisions. I believe we're the only country that doesn't have the backup necessary to prevent this kind of emergency.

I wonder if BP has thought of drilling numerous times around the original site? That might release pressure from the area that can not be contained. Just a thought.

That just goes to show you how much airlines care about people's pets! Instead of treating them like a family member they treat them as property. I wouldn't take my pet on flight anywhere.

those 'Bling-Ring Bandits' should be made an example of. home invasion is home invasion.

the attitude that some (a lot of? society in general?) people have is that if someone is 'celeb' it gives society a right to invade their personal lives and privacy. that has obviously degraded to the point that this includes people's homes now as well. this is society at it's worst, and makes me literally want to vomit.

They are disgraceful, these "Birthers," they are purely racist hiding behind a birth certificate. The doctor's reason is weak, pathetic, and lame for leaving the military...he probably got himself in a bind and wants a sacpegoat. His lawyer should be banned from practice. They should not be given air time...because they are a vexation to the spirit. A house divided (America) will fall..Its time to stop this nonsence.

Thank you Anderson for challenging those two people who don't really want to accept the truth that our President is an American citizen. The MD will be court-marshalled and blame the President for that. The lawyer for this MD is curious. If they could only see what many of us see, they are ridiculous, ill-informed, choosing ignorance and unwilling to accept that a black American could possibly be the President of the U.S.

Their real motives are built on racism. The MD appears to want out of the military and is using the President as his reason instead, of just admitting he doesn't want to be deployed anymore.

    Good evening all.

Am I the only person shocked that BP didn't have a plan for something like this? They keep saying it's never happened before and that's why no plan. Well, my house has never caught on fire, but I still have smoke detectors and an evacuation plan.

Isn't the requirement to be a natural born citizen, not just a citizen? That is why Arnold Swatzenegger is not eligible. Surely if the definition of "natural born" was to have one natural born parent, that simple point would have been made earlier. If that is the definiton it would seem to close the birther argument against Obama. If it is not the definiton then Mc'Cain would have had the same attack except that no one claims Panama is in America.

  41. nancyinoregon

I can't imagine, Jo Ann....how anyone would be allowed to do anything so potentially hazardous without a 'fix' in place if it should all go terribly wrong. Not in this country, anyway-where you have to get a permit before you even add a deck to your house! Other places in the world, maybe-ferry boats seem notoriously under-regulated in many places, suffering disaster after disaster. But here, where Red Tape is the hallmark of just about anything we do...hard to imagine!

What people don't realize is that there are plenty of underwater pockets of methane. If there was another explosion it would be really bad for everyone.

I am mentally and emotionally "sickened" by this oil disaster.

I am having trouble watching Anything on this story.

What makes me "sick" is it was Totaly preventable had the safety measures been installed and not "waived" by Mr. Cheney.

And, yes, i also agree tha BP has been totally been "disconnected" from the ecological disaster in America-Iagree with Mr. Brinkley-what if all of this oil was on the coast of Britain or in the county of Kent?!

Haliburton was applying cement to this well when it exploded. In nearly all rig explosions researched, improper cementing procedures and injection were the cause. Haliburton and Dick Cheney two names that keep coming up.
