    Good evening AC 360
The president has been sworn in and is the president. Unless some real substantial evidence came out to show that he really wasn't born in Hawaii and the certificate of live birth is false, this guy has to obey the commander in chief and not disobey on the grounds that a couple of people hate Obama as president so they would make up anything to create negative opinions of him.

The doctor is really being totally abused by that organisation which apparantly takes all benefits while the doctor will loose everything included all what he has professionaly established. That organisation should really be persecuted by law because of pushing this already proven case to an extreme level where ordinary men are and believing everything which is told in their backyard.

If you are born in the USA you are a Citizen, no matter the citizenship of your parents,

But even better .... unless the rules have changed ...if you want to be an office in the US Military you have to have been born a citizen, not naturalized ......

Someone needs to retake their civics class .....

And with so much going on ..... have they nothing better to get worked up about...... UGH ....

Lt Col Lakin is not only looney tunes, he’s a COWARD!

If he was intent on ducking his orders to serve in Afghanistan, perhaps he could have come up with a more creative reason.

Frankly, he lacks the mental stability to serve in a combat zone and the military is just better off without him. He deserves a court-martial and hey, he will have earned it in spades!

I'm sure that it's valid and necessary to critique any potential Supreme Court Justice...but will this process be more politically motivated than intellectual? If so, I'll be sure to tune it out! I'm getting so tired of kindergarten politics!

Everything that Obama does will be questioned, dissected and attacked more than any other previous President. I wonder how we would of been if Bush would've still held office.

A president is measured by his history of service and his duty to his country not just by a certificate. I am glad someone as silly as this officer not serve because I am afraid he will make a very poor judgment as he has shown on your show,

I find this incredulous...my son is serving his 2nd tour in Iraq...meeting his military commitment. I am sickened to think that a LTC is denying his deployment orders, plus the LTC is a physician. How dare he put my son's welfare and potential need for healthcare in danger because he defies his military commitment. Shame on you.

I was born in Hialeah Florida in 1957, my Birth Certificate is a "Certificate of Live Birth", my ex-husband was born in Honolulu Hawaii in 1955, his certificate is a "Certificate of Live Birth" when it was still a Territory!

You can get a US Passport with a Certificate of Live Birth! Shame on the Lt Col's lawyer, ambulance chaser comes to mind!

Oh my ex is currently serving as a Cmdr USN in Afghanistan.

I really thing the Doctor should be charged with treason. I voted for John Mccain but we have a Republican Governor that backs up that Barak Obama was in fact born in Hawaii. I think it is time to get off of this issue. The Doctor is in the US Military and was given a direct order in a time of war. To me this is treason.

Thanks, for the info about Court Martial...glad to hear that the Military is taking Laken seriously ... what do you think will happen to him? (if you had to guess?) 18yrs of honorable service....

This guy is looking for a little attention. I am glad that he's not my doctor. I think his attorney needs to get his head examined. At least the Army Doctor might have one legitimate patient.

Despite this persons previous service to "our nation" he should be removed from his position of authority because at this point it is obvious he serves himself before country. As a fellow physician I am embarrassed to be his colleague. As a Hispanic American I wonder if I am included in his opinion of "our nation."

How dare this army doctor? Who does he think he is? Sounds like he just wants out of the service. Can't he just resign? These ignorant kooks are coming out of the wood pile for one reason: they're scared of our black president.

Lakin should renounce his commission in disgrace. He does not deserve to represent the military of our country. Keep keeping them honest, Anderson.

    May 10, 2010 at 10:19 pm |
  25. Lyndsey

Laken wouldn't even answer the questions Anderson was asking him because he knows that he has no proof. I do believe that all presidents should have to show their birth certificates, but don't start when a black president takes office. His birth certificate has been released, so that should be the end of it. If you don't want to serve under his command, then resign. End of story.

    Hi Mr. Cooper,

That interview with the Colonol and his attorney was absolutely impeccable. I don't know what class at Yale taught you to speak like that, but I hope I find it soon.

    Good evening Anderson,

Lt. Col Lakin, with lawyer in tow, is a man with a surreal mission. If every other citizen from Hawaii is of legitimate citizenship with the standard issue birth certificate, what makes him think that the president should have something else...it sure would be useful to learn what his agenda is and why he would make such a request. If he has legitimate motive for this, now is the time to reveal it. As far as I am concerned, what a waste of time and money.

Not only is anyone born in the US a natural-born citizen, but also anyone who is born anywhere in the worls who has at least one US citizen parent (Ann Dunham) who has lived in the US 1 year, is still considered a natural-born US citizen.

In the absence of logic and facts, the only explaination is racism! Why would they feel that Obama was born from Kenya from a white woman from Kansas. Not many people actually "choose" to give birth in a third world nation! There is no other explaination! It is NEVER popular to be called a racist, so it is cloaked in this idiocy!

The attorney and his client are showing once again, that bigoted, hate mongers are paying people to spread their hatred. They found a bunch of jerks to continue to spread hatred.

I agree.. Let's NOT give any more attention to this Army doctor who can't speak for himself. Is he runnign for office or something?

  33. richard

Obama just has too impeccable a record, and since he's black, racists don't know what to do. Thus, this is the only fair explanation for these guys raising this issue - never bofore raised of other presidents. If the dr didn't have doubts about his personal motivations, he would hardly have needed an attny speak for him about something he claims to feel is a real search for truth.

The birther movement is unbelievable. They're just disgruntled people who are so resentful that Barack Obama is the president and will grasp for anything to bring him down. I appreciate the debate you are having yet somehow think that giving them time on the air somehow legitimizes their ideas.
The birthers are digging their own grave every time they open their idiotic mouths.

    Good evening.

I watched the show on fri. regarding Lt. Lakers lawsuit. These birther people seem to be a group of people who will grasp at anything to disapprove of Obama as President. There seems to be some racial profiling going on.

  42. Kathy, Dingmans Ferry,Pa

These birthers should not be given the time of day. They are just a bunch of disgruntled imbiciles who will do anything to get on TV. This LtCol is a good example of someone that should not be allowed to be in this country. If you don't like it leave it.

  43. Charlene - Hawaii

I am a lifelong resident of Hawaii. The birth certificate shown for Pres. Obama is exactly the same as those issued for every other person born in the islands. Never been an issue. Maybe the birthers think we are not part of the U.S. Unless Obama changes color, they will not be appeased.

The birthers are just plain racist!...They are trying to break President Obama and wants him to fail. They have never asked for a birth certificate from any other president than Obama...and will never be satisfied. Please...we have oil spills, floods, and 2 wars going on....focus on real problems...What;s behind all this is just plain racism...ps: love your show...

Wow. I sure wish they could televise the court martial. It's a good thing this man's insanity is being exposed publicly. Who knows what kind of damage he could be doing in private.

It's racism, pure and simple. They would not believe any document that Obama would produce.

I'm with Toobin . . . these people are not rational.
