Times Square Terror: Join the Live Chat

[cnn-photo-caption image=http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/01/02/liveblogfinal.copy.jpg]

Tonight on 360°, breaking developments in the Times Square bomb threat.  Investigators are looking at the possibility this was not the work of a lone wolf. Plus, we're keeping BP honest over the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. We also have Gary Tuchman's investigation on the priest who was convicted of being a child molester. Why did Cardinal Ratzinger, who is now the Pope, hesitate in defrocking  him?

Scroll down to join the live chat during the program. It's your chance to share your thoughts on tonight's headlines. Keep in mind, you have a better chance of having your comment get past our moderators if you follow our rules.

Here are some of them:

1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

    Dear Anderson,

I think this Pope should resign along with the top management of the church...because there'll be a forever drip-drip of letter's concerning the signature of this Pope from the past protecting paedophiles. It doesn't matter how long ago it was, it was still children now adults who had childhoods stolen & were horribly violated. Irish TV showed a film recently of another scandal that not only the present Pope knew about, but his predecessor knew all about as well. Is it any wonder the world is suffering with so many disaster's today? When the church is corrupt within it's walls!.

Thank you very much Tom Foreman and CNN for the repts on flooding in TN and Southeast.

In the case in Gary Tuchman's rept the Vatican should've taken action.

No that looks real, probably they had a hell of a time getting their dog back.

    Good night everyone.

Anderson, keep them honest and get to the bottom of really how much oil is out there. We have a right to know the actual potential of this disaster.

@Mike, formerly from Syracuse - I agree! In fact, child molestation should have much stronger sentence. It is scary when we look up our area code in the registry and find that they are all around us! And some cases we can see the face, know they are in the area code, but no address. Very scary.

    @charlie,

The Pope is the Head of The Vatican! All of Vatican City. He is in charge of Vatican City, not just the Vatican (place), but the Country, and The Roman Catholic Church, etc. You get the idea?

    May 3, 2010 at 10:58 pm |
  21. Sue

I wonder if Cardinal Ratzinger's power was because he had all the goods on the priests.
Gary Tuchman, Great reporting! Hope you get that interview.

@Kelly, I don't know if there is a way to 'fire' the Pope. I think he would have to resign.

I'm not sure why Conan's mad at Leno rather than NBC execs. They are the ones who made all these decisions, not Leno. Leno got demoted, he's a victim too. Sad Conan doesn't see that

Gated communities and closed doors are no obstacle to Gary! A great job by a great journalist!

This story is making my stomach turn!
    How sick is this?!!

I feel as outraged as those women!
This is a great report by Gary Tuchman. I've been looking forward to seeing this one.

Shame on him indeed, Anderson. Thanks for saying that on-air!

Is it "a long time ago" for the victims? I don't believe time heals all sins...

    Michael,
I think priest would have gone to jail, never have committed yet, There are going to investigation right now.

    May 3, 2010 at 10:52 pm |
  36. Karoline, Los Angeles

Are children members of the universal church? So if children are members and the leaders make decisions for the good of the whole church, why can't they make decisions to protect children?

This goes back to ancient beliefs in patriarchal societies like the Catholic church that women and children are property.

    May 3, 2010 at 10:52 pm |
  37. Karen, MN

All pedophiles belong on an island together.

    May 3, 2010 at 10:51 pm |
  38. Sue

What that and many other priests have done and what Pope has NOT done have altogether really lowered my opinion of church as an institution and the entire christianity system. I'd wager I'm not the only one who feels so.

    May 3, 2010 at 10:51 pm |
  39. Kelly - Harrisburg, PA

What can the church do to the Pope to investigate this or dethrone him?
