Tonight on 360°, Sarah Palin's speaking contract. It's full of provisions spelling out what she requires when she shows up for speaking engagements. We've got the raw politics. Plus, comedian Chelsea Handler and more.

I'd like to know where all these rightous conservatives where when Bush was running this country into the ground. Funny how they all come out of the woodwork when they are out of power.
Way to dodge the question and recite poll-tested talking points on and on. The state senator's non-denial was extremely disturbing.
I do not know why the governors and govenor candidates in states such as Texas and Oklahoma have not been asked to pledge to deny Federal assistance to their states that are collected illegally by the federal government.
Didn't Democrats tell us that our states were left vulnerable by deploying the National Guard overseas? When Hurricane Katrina occurred, I remember Democrats saying that the National Guard wouldn't be able to respond properly due to overseas deployments. Perhaps, if that were true, the states do need their own militia type groups to pick up the slack.
I would feel better with a state run malithia .
@Helen, this is an 'issue' with about .0001% of Republicans. It just makes a good news story.
Good evening Anderson and everyone!
Sorry, I'm late!
Just hearing not very long ago that theer was a spike in militias all over the U.S and then with all of the threats inside the government I really dont think this is a good idea. What do we need to protect the individual states from? Another state?
Good evening Anderson and everyone! State Senator Brogdon sounds scary to me-he cannot give concrete answers to the questions. What will he do if he gets elected?
Mike,
You're right, What Anderson talking about Militia as state..... Good point!
If a bunch of people want to organize, arm themselves, and call themselves the Poduck Militia, it's legal. However unless they are a state sanctioned body, they are no different than a bowling league, except with guns. They have no power, and have to obey all laws the same as anyone.
Didn't Barack Obama say he wanted to set up a civilian national security force that would be as powerful and well funded as the military? He said this in a speech while campaigning in July of 2008.
These people are scary. I really don't believe the majority of Americans support this.
@Helen,
Not all Republicans were talking about "Militias"...
I'm sorry, but this guy sounds a bit unhinged. All this talk of how the Federal Government is curtailing states rights really doesn't make sense to me.
Any kind of State run Guard/militia independent of and possibly in opposition to National government rules sounds like the makings of major civil unrest. This defeats the purpose of a unified, national armed services corp.
State guard is never going to happen. Maybe they can be the Lone Star of 2010.
Anderson,
Hi!
The armed state guard idea sounds more intimidating than reasonable–and very ironic considering it is Oklahoma. I think there are far better ways to deal with government policies a person disagrees with.
@Mike, formerly from Syracuse,
I agree with your post re the National Guard.
Not impressed with State Sen. Randy Brogdon, just like other politicians.
I can't think of a single previous time that I was thankful I wasn't living in nor residing in Oklahoma. This Republican candidate is sending some very fearful buzz words under his guise to be a constitutional protector.
@Emily- on Sen. Brogdon "dancing", i agree.
I am moving to Oklahoma
Texas has the Texas Rangers are the considerd a malithia .
Republicans were making gains, those militia talks will definetly push them back, I am afraid. I know I will not vote for anyone who support militias. If you don't agree with someone you vote them out. Those people are losing their minds.
Good evening everyone. Good to be with all of you. A "quiet revolution"? A voluntary state guard? Oh boy. What is happening?? Let's arm a bunch of volunteers and have them run around with weapons and doing what?? Yikes. And arm the tea partiers? Nothing scares me more than the idea of armed tea partiers.
@Mike, formerly from Syracuse, "There already IS a state guard in every state."
That is right. I don't know why Anderson is pressing this issue.
Protect the citizens of Oklahoma from what? This really concerns me when there are men like this who want their own personal army
Good get him Anderson! Great interview.
Is this what the Republican leaders were speaking of in Republicans declaring Armageddon on Americans? Push for State Militias in States where some Republican lawmakers want succession from the US?
i'm sorry, but i don't see the connection between 'economic havoc' and embellishing an 'armed state guard'.
State Sen. Randy Brogdon sounds like he's doing a lot of 'dancing' in this interview w/AC. :/
@Mike, formerly from Syracuse- your post on the National Guard, right on!!
Good Evening, I think a separate state guard is dangerous
Oklahoma is left vulnerable to WHAT–"when the troops go overseas"? Arkansas?
Sounds like a militia to me.
What is the government afraid of are they planing a take over .
There already IS a state guard in every state. It's called the National Guard. Some states have additional bodies, like NY which has the NY Naval Militia, which functions similar to the National Guard.
Good evening Anderson & Team 360;
Hello, David, Isabel, Gabriela, Devin, Nichole, Kim, Nancy, Megan, Mike, Emily, Casey, A. Smith, Dodie, Dulcie, everyone...
What's up with a "State Mailitia"??What would it do...attack other states or the Federal Gov.???
Kudo's to Anderson Cooper for pressing this Republican Governor for his response to enact a State Militia which would presumably be used to fight for succession.
Good evening everyone
What else does the senator call a state ran armed guard? If it sounds and looks like a militia, it is one
State-run militias and volunteer forces??? Sounds scary and like vigilante-ism.
If the malithia is state ran I see no proublem with it .
good evening...
