A producer for the long-running reality television show “Survivor” is being held in Cancun in connection with the death of his wife, authorities said.
Adrian Cardena, spokesman for the regional police confirmed to CNN that Bruce Beresford-Redman has been named a suspect in the death of Monica Beresford-Redman.
Cardena also told CNN the body of the 42-year-old American was found this morning on the grounds of the Hotel Moon Palace where the couple was reportedly staying with their two children.
Reached for comment, Gregory Segas, the principal officer for the u.s. consulate in Merida, told CNN “we are working closely with the family and the police.”
“We’re aware of the case,” Segas said. “We’re fully engaged with the case but we can’t comment any further.
Bruce Beresford-Redman has been associated with reality TV programming for many years.
According to the Internet Movie Data Base, he has been credited as a producer for Survivor and The Restaurant, and has been listed as an executive producer for Pimp My Ride, The Contender, and Crash Course.
