California is referred to as a bellwether, a state that produces social trends and political movements that spread throughout the country.

This time, you had better hope you're spared. When it comes to the wacky left coast politics on display in this year's elections in California, trust me: You don't want any of this.

There's an initiative on the ballot that would legalize marijuana and allow any California resident 21 years and older to possess 1 ounce for personal use.

I think some of our politicians are getting ahead of themselves. They're obviously under the influence of something.

There are two big races this year, for U.S. Senate and governor.

Ummm, I believe it has already been reported that one could lose their job is they came to work stoned - sorta like they could lose their job if they came to work drunk.

Although it's illegal, that certainly hasn't stopped anyone from partaking. So why not instead reap the benefits legalization would bring? We are state that is running a rather large deficit. Legalizing it would bring in tax revenue.

Alcohol is legal, prescription drugs are legal, OTC meds are legal - all of which have similar effects to marijuana. (Now I would be more concerned if we talking of legalizing cocaine, heroine, etc. We haven't gotten quite that 'out there' yet.)

Oh great, I'm sure employers are ecstatic, looking forward to their employees coming to work stoned. So much for jobs, jobs, jobs.

But then, if you're stoned, you won't care that you don't have a job, you might not even know you don't have a job.

California's new genius trend: employees on the job with memory problems, slow action, concentration problems, coordination problems.

Let me guess, in California employees will end up unemployeed due to marijuana use and will go on welfare, that's really good for our economy. Can't wait!!!!
