Seem kind of original to be sleeping on a cot in congress.
Good night Isabel, Emily, Starr, Megan, everyone.
Good night everyone!!!
@Jo Ann,
Congressman Chaffetz is a real man of the people! Good for him!
I think he will be re-elected!
have a great night, everyone!
see you all tomorrow! Be safe!
That Congressman is cool for being able to do that.
Thank you & Good night Anderson & Team 360. Another diversified show!
Good night Nichole, David, Isabel, Gabriela, Emily, Megan, Mike, A. Smith, Devin, Kim, everyone. Hope your tomorrow is safe and happy.
Thank you Radi-Kaye for another excellent report. God bless that congressman. I have often wondered if All of Congress had to live that way, if they would be more based in reality – bet they would!
Not that 174,000 is low pay
"Good Night People! Pleasant dreams!"
What Chaffetz does isn't unheard of. I know in our country, where members of congress are mostly millionaires, can we find solons who travel to the House on a bicycle.
I think it's great this guy is sleeping on a cot at work. Nice to see someone acting what they preach.
Good Night everyone, Anderson, Emily, Isabel, Dodie, Megan D, Heather, Starr, AC360, CNN Staffers and fellow bloggers! Great show and reporting tonight, well done!
Good night Anderson and bloggers Emily, Mike, Kim, and Starr. Great show tonight!
He still makes over 100K! While the rest of us Americans are unemployed (myself included)
So he is living rent free? I wish I had a place to live rent free.
Seems like a stunt to me.
Nicole from the Netherlands
Good night, See you tomorrow! 🙂
Good night. Sweet dreams!
I would sleep on a cot to save $1500 a month. Good for him!!! I'm glad to see someone in the government that has to live on a budget like the rest of us!!
wow! Rep. Chaffetz just gave me an idea! 🙂
Good night. Sweet dreams.
@BettyAnn...I had a similar thing happen to me in the late 70s......heavy starboard list and the pool emptied out with all the deck furniture crashing against the glass, etc., etc. It scared me to death......and I've been cruising ever since.
Have a great night Anderson, Briana, Kira, Devna, Eliza, 360Team, Megan, Starr, Gabriela, Dodie, Mike, David & Isabel, Jo Ann, Gloria, Casey, Adelaide A.Smith, Devin, Nicole & Bloggers!
What a story here by Randi! 🙂
Congressman Chaffetz is a real man of the people! Good for him!
I can't believe this congressman is still sleeping in his office.
Isn't this a piece that was run months ago?
what the heck is wrong with sleeping in your office? by the time you add in commute time, and working odd hours, it really seems to be quite a brilliant solution. just add a mini-fridge – good to go!!
Can he write it off as an office expense?
I like the Utah guy already =) He seems like a preety cool guy!
@ Emily
Yes, there's no way to run or place to hide, you just have to try to survive!
Good Night everyone, Anderson, Emily, Isabel, Dodie, Megan D, Heather, Starr and everyone!!!
It's almost weekend, Thanks God! Have a nice Friday! I'll see you all tomorrow night!
44% millionaires :
Goverment of the people by the poeple for the people. ?
Government of the people by the wealthy for the corporations !!!
Good night Anderson, Poppy, Megan, Jessica, Candy, David G, Ed Henry, Kim, Emily, Gloria, Dodie, Mike, Casey, Milan, Vivan, Gabriela, Cessy, Paula, Isabel, David-Indiana, JoAnn, Monica, Kathy, Gayle, Renee, Caroline, Danie, Lori, Adelaide, BettyAnn and my friend Twitter/Facebook Bloggers!!!!
See you tomorrow night, Have a great night & Sleep tight everyone!!!
Day of the shot with congress sleeps his cot in closet or hallway, Oh boy, not enough go home??? Nice shot, Anderson!!!! LOL! Thanks AC!
Have a good Friday!
Thanks for coming in, and join us tonight! 🙂
Anderson,
Have a great night & good sleep at home after work!!!
See you tomorrow night!!! Just a plenty sleep at home!
"We're in the money!"
Is it legal for the congressman to "live" in his office?
@Bloggers,
Do you think that this is a stunt?
It's a great message to run on....
There have been some pretty "spirited" debates in those halls, I wouldn't be surprised if ghosts of people like Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Lincoln, and even Reagan walk those halls at night!
This next story looks hilarious. You would never think of a Congressman sleeping on a cot.
I have cruised many times ( about 20?) and only had something like that happen once. And that was a small ship. Nobody died (except a man who had a heart attack) but the ship was turned on it's side and sloshed all the people out of the pool!
But, It is really safe. I'll cruise anytime!
Thank Anderson, for having Sebastian unger on the program. It was informative (yes, i still have one letter that does not work on my keyborad).
Definitely looking forward to his new book, War.
The congressman sleeping in his office must have gotten wind of all the investigative reporting on the infamous C street congressional apartment complex and infamous 'The Family' that runs it and didn't want to be part of that 'story'.
@ Shella: Yep that is the nonsense of having separate legal processes and rights for terrorists (normally assumed to be Non US citizens). The US will eventually have to develop a body of law to decide who goes into which justice system. The evergreen industry of law. gotta love it.
@Starr, its hard to know why someone would commit such a senseless crime, although we don't know any of the details at this point.
@Karen, MN Truly seems like that's how a farm should be.
Troubling story about Ivins. I can understand the counselor reporting a possible crime, but what about confidentiality of her patient beyond that?
@ Sheila Toomey
Yes, I didn't knew where it was, until I saw the whole video! For me it's more scary when that happened just like that, when a wave like this one hits a cruiser without a previous warning or previous situation that cause it, that's scary!
Wow that passenger Tom Berg was a dutch guy, recognize the accent everywhere. Megan, Starr,. Emily, Devin, Thanks for the welcome!
I was in doubt if to react, foreign as I am. But the reporting on AC is addictive.. And then I found the blog, happy to meet you all. Have a good night!
@Gabriela,
"Oh My God this video of the cruiser is Scary! How terrifying it could be? there's no place to run!!!"
That's so true, and it's not easy to swim in those huge waves!
Looks like Pilot error on taking that huge wave into the side of the ship. The captain had to had seen that wave approaching his ship. Huge wave, nobody watching, disaster occurs!
The Perfect Storm happened off the coast of Glouster, Ma. Near where I live. Scary.
I'd love to read Sebastian Junger's most recent book. I'll have to look for that.
The answer is in the authorities' non-response.
