Tonight on 360°, once again we have breaking developments on the 10 Americans accused of kidnapping 33 children in Haiti. We've been on this story for several days and we keep uncovering new information. Plus, one senator blocking 70 presidential appointments because his pork projects haven't been approved. We've got the raw politics. And, who dat? - the two words with ties this Sunday's Super Bowl.

Scroll down to join the live chat during the program. It's your chance to share your thoughts on tonight's headlines. Keep in mind, you have a better chance of having your comment get past our moderators if you follow our rules.

Here are some of them:

1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

Throwing everything on the ground is way normal. Babies like to see gravity at work. It's fun!

I find it hard to believe that people would go along with Laura... she appears to be manipulative using her soft, slow words...they need to be given consequences. It's important that we dont give the wrong messages to other countries just because we are the most powerful country in the world.

I think Laura and the nanny should be charged and kept in prison. Laura calls herself a missionary but every word that comes from her mouth seems to be a lie... She makes me so mad. And the sad part about it is that she probably lied to most of the people in her group and now because of her evilness and greed they are stuck in prison...

You cannot parse the American's intent from their intentions, as so many who are defending their actions seem to be doing. Their intent was clearly to take the children out of the country without the Haitian government's consent, which is a crime. From this point it makes no difference what they would have done with the children next, and that is why they are in so such trouble. They need to have a major "mea culpa" moment and quickly.

I will be praying for the 10 American Baptist Missionaries who have been charged with kidnapping in Haiti. Personally I do not feel that they intended to kidnap those children. Maybe they should have gotten proper documentation but I feel that they Still Need Justice. Justice is What they Need.

I hope the lawyer for the 9 gets them sent back to the US. Even the families of the 9 had thought they went there on good intentions. However, Laura Silsby should sit in a Haitian prison for a while.

I hope that all 10 of these so called missioniaries are punished to the full
extent by the haitian Judicial system, with out the interference of the US Goverment. They broke the law !!!! If they had tried this in the United States they would have been punished as our law dictates. They had a ring leader and the other 9 choose of their own free will to join what she was doing. They were not working in the name of Jesus, they were working in the name of stupity.

Intention verses the law is irrelevant. Ignorance of the law is no excuse.

How sad that the selfish and power-driven needs of people such as Laura Silsby have usurped the needs of so many suffering in Haiti?

  32. Anna Marie Person

I can't believe that the other 9 people didn't know anything!!! You don't find people naive enough to not know that crossing the border with over 30 children without the proper documentation is illegal

    Very true.

The other 9 are of varying ages. I can see if the young kids (18) got roped along but the rest of them in their 30's, 40's, & 50's? (but Anderson is sweet to give them the benefit of the doubt : ))

I guess they are lucky that this woman/leader is so shady because she will take most of the blame.. but no one should be stupid enough to think its ok to take a bunch of kids across the border in a foreign country when numerous media reports have warned of the problems with child trafficking. How stupid can people be?

  33. Lori

Hello Anderson. Happy Friday! Hello Everyone! I hope that everyone is staying warm and dry.

The story about the Haiti kids's adoptions are unbelievable. So hard to believe that someone could be so manipulative and cold hearted.

    Does Whiskey go bad?

  34. A. Smith, Oregon

Wow, I would love to sample a 100 year old Whiskey and Brandy!

  35. Carolyn

Laura Silsby saw a money making opportunity! Bring those kids to the US & sell them. And I don't have much compassion for the others – their adults – they should have asked Laura more about her mission. It's been on the news for 2 weeks now that the adoptions have stopped. I'm a Christian and yet I HATE those people who profess "In the name of God. All of them shoud be forced to stay there and clean up the rubble.

Anderson, I believe that this is sad. The missionaries went to
Haiti to help children. Why does there government not require them to do what they supposedly went there to do which was to help. Let the government have the men to clean up there prison and when done let them help with all age hatians and the same goes for the women except that they are not at the damaged prison where all of there prisoners had escaped. Taking children from there parents is not the
right answer. When someone says that they want to help it should not include taking there children. Maybe people should start helping to keep families together and help to make that happen unstead of splitting up children from there family and trying to take there children to the United States. Why not help them in Haiti?

    February 5, 2010 at 10:27 pm |
  37. Ducarmel Sagesse

Good evening Anderson, You are doing a great job. I pray that God blesses you and yours. I hope that those already took children overseas before Laura Silsby got caught don't abuse them.

  38. Mike, formerly from Syracuse

@Milan, my point was that with everything going on in Haiti, and child slavery rampant before this, the government seems all over this one particular case.

Seriously, blocking 70 presidential appointments because he didn't get his way? I know 7-year-olds who throw less obvious temper tantrums than the Senator.

It's disappointing this is the behaviour our elected officials think is appropriate.

    February 5, 2010 at 10:27 pm |
  41. Emily

    @Dodie,
I hope that they do a full investigation on Laura Silsby!

Laura Silsby saw an opportunity to make some money off of the suffering of the Haitian people. it is clear she lied and her 'orphanage" in the DR.. was a front to sell these kids to the highest bidder.

    February 5, 2010 at 10:26 pm |
  49. James, CA

    Anderson,
These people knew exactly what they wanted to do to the Haitian people – take advantage of a chaotic and desparate people for their own selfish ends. They wanted to go into Haiti and kidnap these children – after all who cares and who would know. The failed to realize that the Haiti government also have a system in place that would catch these criminals. A good intention would be to work with the legal agencies down there to help the people.

They broke the law and no exception. They should go through the legal process. Spend time in jail.

If I were Sen. Reid, I'd let Sen. Shelby filibuster these nominees to show who really puts Washington in gridlock.
