Editor's Note: After last night's AC360°, we heard from many of you about the American Baptist missionaries from Idaho who gathered up 33 children to take them out of Haiti. Opinions were mixed, but most of you wrote in to say that you think what they did was wrong. We'll have more on the story tonight.
You need to check into that group. Those Christian "missionaries" belong in jail, and later prison. They kidnapped those children, pure and simple. They got them for nothing! That absurd excuse of "we didn't know they needed papers" is NOT to be believed. They stole those children. When they got caught, they lied about where they had obtained them and how. Don't be fooled by their Christian propaganda, "We're singing hymns to keep our spirits up", "God told us to do it". That is nothing but a front. These people are liars. They even lied about the "swimming pool" they said awaited the children. Who knows what their real plans were, but the more they are investigated, the clearer it will become that these are not good people. They are liars on record. On your own tape! They stole those children and it was part of a deliberate plan. The impoverished people of Haiti are tragic. These are just some of the people who prey on them.
Great Work in Haiti- I followed the story with the orphans closely. I work at a children's home in Texas and we are attempting to coordinating efforts with other organizations and the State Dept. to house several Haitian Children if needed. The red tape is CRAZY! We had several FLDS children at our home two years ago- we are well known and well respected in caring for children in crisis (we do not adopt children out only private placement- nonprofit). I would love it if you would follow our story as it unfolds with the Haitian Orphans.
