Police are concerned that a Minnesota teenager who vanished a week ago may possibly be the victim of foul play. “We’re trying to stay away from the negative, “ said Duluth police department spokesman Brad Wick, “but we will not rule it out.”

Sylvester McCurry, 18, vanished Sunday night, January 17. The high school senior was last seen leaving the Stargate nightclub in Superior, Wisconsin, authorities said.

In a statement, the Duluth police said McCurry went to the club with his brother and ran into friends while there. “McCurry left Stargate without telling anyone he was leaving or where he was going” said the statement.

Two extensive searches for McCurry were conducted last week, Wick told CNN. He added that bloodhounds and a plane were used to look for the missing teen. “It’s very uncharacteristic of him not to have contacted any family or friends for this period of time,” Wick said.

McCurry has not used his cell phone since the disappearance, detectives said.

Sylvester McCurry is described as a light-skinned black male. He is 5’11”, weighs 150 pounds and has short brown hair and brown eyes.

Authorities said he was last seen wearing blue jeans and white Nike shoes.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Duluth Police Department.

Has anybody heard of the "Smiley Face Murders"? I read about it somewhere on the net. Young guys are found dead and it always seems that there is a river nearby. Sometimes the body turns up in the water, but never where the person was actually killed, according to the theory. Google on it. I hope this guy isn't another one. Young guy, drinking in bar, leaves bar alone, found dead in river. There are dozens of cases all over the country. Creepy. Possibly a nationwide gang or cult involved.

brandon swanson also just disappeared into thin air, also in the same state. has anyone look at both cases? maybe there are similar things, could there be a serial killer loose in minn? both were boys, both were 18, 19 respectfully, both just vanished with seemingly no clue. have there been others as well? is anyone looking into that aspect of this?

It is just so sad how so many people just disappear off of Planet Earth I just don't get it at all if most of these people have so many friends it doesn't make sense at all.

MAY GOD BLESS HIM AND HIS ENTIRE FAMILY NOW THROUGH THIS ROUGH TIME AND FOR ALL TIME AS I AM SURE HE WILL!!!

Problem is when someone 18 or over goes missing it's not taking seriously. "Wait 48 hours because he/she might come back' How stupid is that? Seriously? If something really did happen to him, those 48 hours could have made a huge difference. The world needs to wake up and stop putting on higher value on the life of the younger crowd and rushing to help them. The older crowd is just as valuable if not more, and should be just as important. Either it's 48 hours for everyone, or no one.
