Goodnight everyone.Peace to all of you and yours.Bless all those in Haiti.
Good evening Anderson! Your are doing a wonderful job out there in haiti. I am wondering....why are they not flying above these cities and just dropping massive amounts of food and water? I understand it would cause panic for most on the ground and the fighting and killing will take place, but they will quickly reailse that enough is being dropped for all. Either way people will die(from sicknesses/hunger). Also, medical supplies can be dropped in the lawn of the presidential palace to be quickly distributed.....
The planes can come out of florida/atlanta/alabama/so carolina ect....
No need to land therefor no need for fuel for the planes. Doing this will allow medical/doctors/nurses to land in the airport.....just my thoughts....
Good night Anderson, Gary, Sanjay, and Ivan. Another great day of reporting. Stay safe.
Anderson those so call governer in Haiti will not do a thing for haitian they just planning on how they're going to steal all those money those carrying AMERICANS people collect to help haitians that are in need. i know you will be the hears for haitian i know you will make sure haitian get help. i know you will not let those stealer get those fund to create they own businesss in country like Saint dominge or france.
i like David Gergen's take on things - it's not oversimplified, but a focused message to keep it simple and get it done
Good night Anderson, Megan, Jessica Y, Ed Henry, David Gergen, Martina Ilstad, Emily and my friends Twitter/Facebook Bloggers!!!!!
See you tomorrow night!
Have a great night and sleep tight everyone!!!! 😀
Thanks for coming for 2 hours live blog! 🙂
My heart goes to the couple's adopt kid, I hope he will be found as soon as possible.
It is too bad the US health care overhaul is in jeopardy; Being in Canada where everyone has equal access to health care, I cannot fully grasp what the broo-ha-ha, on this issue, in the states is all about. I do hope both sides will resolve their differences for the benefits of the American people.
Good night everybody!
Please try to rest team 360 in Haiti. Outstanding work!!!
Good night everyone. It has been an interesting day full of suprises. Thank you CNN. Sweet dreams to all.
Good Night Everyone! Anderson, you and the rest of CNN reporting teams and crews are doing a great service there. Thank You and may you all be safe.
I read earlier today that the medical ship is supposed to arrive tomorrow morning. Judging by the amount of medical attention I've read about, I think they need more than one ship.
With the disappointing show of our medical system in Haiti, not sure if even reform would help us here. Though many of the caregivers overall are quality caregivers, there are also too many that see their patients as only assembly line products. They entered the field with money as the priority and it shows.
@ Caroline, Los Angeles ,
"Brown saying it was a victory for independents was just a campaign speech. It means nothing. It wasn't independents who voted for him."
60% of independents supported Brown.
@ caroline
your right, it was independents and democrats..Republicans don't have those numbers in Mas.
OK, good night all. Always an interesting conversation on the blog.
Just want to thank Anderson and Dr. Gupta for doing a great job over in Haiti reporting, and for stepping up and helping out the people too. We'll keep everyone in Haiti and all of you over there reporting in our prayers.
@Caroline
I agree!
Thank you for finally telling it like it is...this is an Obama referendum, acting like its' not is a bad idea for dems.
Brown saying it was a victory for independents was just a campaign speech. It means nothing. It wasn't independents who voted for him.
I don't think Obama's administration has gone too far left. I think they have gone too far right! And for what? What have they gained from that?
Dear Anderson,
My uncle jonas Charles live in christ roi located christ Roi 26 rue moise.People are saying that the house has been destroy,i have no word from him.Please tell the rescuerer to go and check it out for me,please and please,360
The best thing that could happen to the GOP is for the Dems to remain in denial over the message this loss sends.
You know lets waste this money by not fixing the health problems right now, it will cost as much as 5o% more in cost. This is crazy. I would fire somebody. And where is the medical ship?
@Emily
It's not only the drug cos., but ins. cos., medical providers (medical equipment) and on and on that oppose reform.
There was an astronomical figure of the amount of money spent on lobbys against health care refom.
However, i feel that most of Congress "gets it" about the rise in health care costs, potential bankrupcy of Medicare, etc.
Call me overly optomistic, but i remain very hopeful that a compromise on the bill can be accomplished by intelligent and sincere Rep's and Sens. They have to Stop worry about their re-elections and do something good for the American People!!
Maybe the MA election will wake them up (smile).
I sure don't think Congress is going to wait for the new guy. It just doesn't work that way.
amy,
True. They are not have equipment this time.
Emily, you made a joke. All those elected officials are trying to save their "seats." Most have forgotten who they work for. They work for each individual voter, not the special interest that lined their pocket.
You go, Anderson, don't let them forget priorities. This is a life and death situation. The people of Haiti deserve to be receiving the medical assistance that the international community stands ready to provide, if only they had access to needed supplies and facilities. Who is in charge, who is responsible for these preventable, "stupid" deaths?
Anderson,
I agree with you, Not fair for people including....
Wow!!! Not good news for to hear that.... 70,000 people dead.... OUCH!
independent voters...from sea to shining sea!
I think that's another thing we can't comprehend. It's not just one city that was crushed. It's many cities.
@Alex Bella,
"Hello Rene Preval where are you???? You abandon your country when they most need you."
Preval should have been out in the streets helping and reassuring his people instead of abandoning them in their time of need.
Hey, what about housing for all the aid workers that is needed? As I write this, the US GSA is selling FEMA trailers at auction. Should we as a country sent these used travel trailers to Haiti as a gesture of our caring and good will? Will Haiti receive the tremendous amount of monetary donations aimed at aid organizations? I have more questions, how about you?
@Caroline, let's not forget that the Dems in MA actually changed the law to allow Kirk to be appointed months ago instead of waiting for today's election. Had they not done that they wouldn't have their 60 votes today. They owe it to Brown and the country to wait now.
The Haitian people are very strong and I think their faith is so strong it is a huge factor. They seem to be amazing people. Americans would have come to fisticuffs after the first two days. The only way you could compare this to Katrina is if Katrina had devestated 1/3 of the country and taken out Washington.
