My prayers are with the people of Haiti. As we watch video and see photos of the victims and devastation we are left with such a sense of helplessness. I will find a way to help. Please know the American people are praying for you all.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the whole of Port-au-Prince. I agree with another blogger who pointed out the tragic intersection of natural disasters and extreme poverty. We must wake up and work collectively and globally to address injustices that exacerbate natural disasters. No disrespect to other reports who extend themselves to cover tragedies in an effort to help victims the world over; however, Anderson bring a level of genuine concern about the plight of humans that us unsurpassed.
I have tried texting Yele at 501501 to donate using my cell phone but was unsuccessful. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any solutions.
Thanks CNN for your wide coverage of the Haiti earthquake. Please follow this story weeks, months, and years for now as you did Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Awareness is key for bringing help to those how need it the most.

We are doing our part even though we can't be there. We are sending our prayers and money.
Obama calls the earthquake a "cruel and incomprehensible" disaster. Perhaps Obama should reflect on his decisions as president to perpetuate wars that are indeed, cruel and incomprehensible human disasters. The statement is not merely absurd, it is foolish considering disasters of this nature strike indiscriminately and are indeed comprehensible as natural phenomena. The tragedy in Haiti is not the earthquake itself, which despite claims to the contrary is not a malicious act of nature, but the economical, social and political poverty that pervades the country, making a natural disaster of this magnitude that much more difficult to bear.

I am devastating by this horrible news that's happening in my country of HAITI... I have not been able to reach my family yet but i am keeping my fingers crossed that things will be ok... Thank you CNN for keeping all Haitians inform throughout the world... I really appreciate everyone for their support... God Bless Haiti...
As a human beings we should all be devestated with them..but for the grace of God it could be here in America...
