Excellent report! The images that are coming over the day show so much terror. Haitians will need to have much help and encouragement to survivors.

It is certainly horrible. Anderson, I am glad to see you back out in the field. You have a talent for putting a human face on tragedy. We can't deny that it is happening or that people need our help when we listen or read your report. Stay safe and please continue letting us know how we can help.

Our family has already made a donation to Catholic Charities, the Red Cross is also asking for donations.

Come on America, let's help our Haitian neighbors!

As americans, even those who were caught up in hurricane Katrina, I do not think we can begin to imagine the desperation these people are facing from this earthquake, or the trials they will face in the days, weeks, months and years to come. The real scars will be in the eyes of the people, not in the structures.

My best friend is a member of a team of 23 of were wrapping up a week long medical missions trip outside of Port-au-Prince with Mountain Top Ministries. Everyone is okay. They assisted at a local hospital last night where more than 100 severely injured people came in seeking treatment. If you want to help, please make a donation to World Vision, Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders or Oxfam. Above all, pray.

Anderson, please help me find a way to send supplies to children in Haiti. I have organized a children's clothing drive and am receiving clothing, shoes, stuffed animals and blankets that I want to distribute to the children in need. I have contacted several organizations, but they only want money.... I don't have money (seriously!), I have stuff. How can I get this into the right hands?

So, so indescribably tragic. PLEASE do what you can to help. Text "HAITI" to 90999 and a $10 donation will be made directly to the American Red Cross for Haiti Relief and the charge will show up on your phone bill. I'm a college student and used the money I would typically use for food or booze to make this donation. This is devastating.

Is anybody aware if the large pier in Port-au-Prince survived the quake. It is very close to the Palace. Is the US sending Hospital ships to Haiti at this point?

The Pier would be able to handle large trucks and equipment, if still in-takt.

It must be extremely hard for the people there to just have to leave their loved ones on the street covered in shrouds or just cardboard! I can't imagine having to deal with that and the devastation there!

My thoughts and prayers definitely go out to them all.
