Here are some of them:
1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)
Anderson Cooper goes beyond the headlines to tell stories from many points of view, so you can make up your own mind about the news. Tune in weeknights at 8 and 10 ET on CNN.

Yes i love T.V. competion! It makes it more interisting im interisted to see who comes out on top! (other then this show of course lol=D)
Never thought Conan O'Brien was funny... NBC should've polled the public.
The new late night line-up would be an interesting experiment.
Conan just isn't that entertaining as Leno, IMO. Apparently many former viewers feel the same way!
I can do both at once.
Anderson we got enough about what the american embassy in Nigeria heard from Abdulmutalab's dad but what we have not heard here in US is that the dad also alerted the Nigerian security organisation where Abdulmutalab boarded plane to USA enroute Amsterdam. Here is my concern, if Abdulmutalab could not be stoped at Amsterdam Airport which is in a developed country, what is going to happen to planes coming directly to US from Nigeria ( Delta Airline, Nigeria to Atlanta ) where anything can pass through the secority as a corrupt nation?
I never watched Jay at 10PM.I watch AC360! ; )
Hi David Gegern,
I agree with your comment, You're right, I know President Obama is taking full responsibility to do right thing!
HOllywood stars are just not that interesting for real talk...
I wonder, it seems that we are always a step behind, we are focused on air planes because of air plane attack; but what about other mass transportation? There is little if no security at train stations; are we waiting for an attack there too?
@Emily – good point re: the freezer; I hadn't thought about that! Now it sounds even worse.
Now, let's be honest about the REAL reason this 10p slot wasn't working: a certain news show called AC 360! 🙂
Waves to Erica Hill, nice to see you online. What are your thoughts about multiple doses of 3D body scanner radiation?
OMG the world is coming to an end...All this reality TV, the Ballon boy hoax/heeney, and the salahi's....yep...the end of humanity as we know it...lol.
"Exactly?"..........why can't they be truthful....
@Megan Dresslar , I always thought it was a huge mistake for them to move Jay...His audience is a late night audience, not a prime time audience!
@ David, Indiana
Yeah, there are a tangle of govt agencies, but isn't there a centralization? Who makes this connection, this centralization?
Sorry, I,m lost
@ Erica:
Annoyed is an understatement, too... I´m sure those crashers and their sponsors will make me mad.
Hey thanks a lot Erica – every time I here the name Richard Heene in the Larry King promos my brain sings "science de-tec-tive".
Perhaps the White House Party Crashers should be the people in charge of national security since they were able to sneak into what was supposed to be the most secure place in the world, they'd know what to look for and stop the terrorist. They could also enlist the help of the balloon family to look at other unconventional ways terrorist might use to air travel for their dubious purposes
We have real time intelligence in the head of the underwear bomber – but he now has his Miranda rights. The Geneva Convention says he is an enemy combatant.
The whitehouse gatecrashers (and maybe the Newark guy) should thanked for exposing security weaknesses. And maybe a little scolding 🙂
Mark, I respectfully disagree, I think the President is really putting all of our needs and safety first...as first place as you can in a place a corrupt as Washington.
I love the cold hope it snows! The mountains look great! Thats crazy people leve there post its crazy!
@Erica,
Just wait until it's late January & February!
What a nightmare!
My freezer is not even that cold!
@Davd Gergen, glad to see you blog with us. Your point about Yemen and Somalia is a good one. However, given the long known reputation of these countries, i would think we would have been monitoring them all along.
The whole problem is complex and need so much more.
Are we going to hear that someone paid the Heene's too?
How will improved scanners be deployed? Are they going to go in every airport in the world that originate flights that terminate in the U.S.? Will there be different security areas for gates going to the U.S.? Who will be paying for this?
Gayle McCauley Malden,Mass.
Good taken point! You're right!!
waves to upstate Megan, WA indeed here in Oregon its nice, not to cold. Although our water year is very low. Only 1 previous year on record that had so little snow and waterfall.
we all knew Leno would come back; no one really 'retires' in Hollywood! Is he even really funny?
Can you say TSA Fail? The TSA agents I encountered aren't fit to handle security at a preschool. Some agents here in Los Angeles were caught getting high on camera. I don't feel safe traveling through America's airports but I have no other choice.
@David Gergen, the way to stop Al Queda is to surgically attack their camps wherever they are and kill them faster than they can recruit. We need to infiltrate the organization to get tactical intel that allows us to strike in real time.
What a mess at the Newark airport! The guard should be fired. What a huge failure in the system! It's a scary thought to even fly anymore.
Protect Americans!!!! Hello. It's time for the President to wake up to what is FIRST priority.
Breaches galore!
I don't even like to think about what -52 feels like – brrrr is a gross understatement
All the smoke and constant showing of the Video of the Newark airport, it simply appears a man was waiting for his girlfriends flight to arrive so they could leave together.
@Starr I agree about the partisanship, putting the sniping aside, coming togther to make things as safe as possible.
So the NBC latenight line is being pushed deeper into the late part of night?
@The Rev. Fred Fenton,
It is crazy making to hear all these so-called "experts" say there was a failure to "connect the dots."
It makes you wonder just how big those dots have to be before these incompetent numbskulls can connect them.
Here is litte warmer right now 46 degree. But no snow!
How much are we paying TSA employees. Shouldn't we be spending money training them and ensuring we are attracting high caliber individuals to these positions! Does the government have a plan, do the department heads have a plan did they know the problems from previous issues that came up with our national security system? All of this seems so reactionary rather than working from a plan and building upon everything we already know. Guys if there is a plan lets stick to it and all do our jobs bringing some common sense too to the job.
How effective are these no fly lists etc. do they have the suspect's passport pictures attched to each name?. Suspects can reenter the USA under an entirely different identity / name (on their passports) that will not flagg them as suspects.
Has there been any news about what airports are going to do re. checking their cameras to be sure that they are working?!
...and if they are not, just how long will it be before they are repaired?
Britain has nearly a half-million security cameras, it didn't stop those subway bombers did it? And those cameras were working!
@starr, we all know that the 'war on terror' became forbidden words in the administration, replaced with Napolitano's infamous 'man caused disasters'. Obama has used the words 'war', 'extremists' and 'terror' at different times, but even as of today has never said we are in a 'war on terror'.
In the Newark airport issue: What are the procedures when leaving one's post (even for a moment)? Proper procedures would require back up cover otherwise they are vulnerable to "deliberate dsitractions). All that adds cost. Probably some of the salaries for the leaders of those 16 agenicies could be better spent on more manpower.
A little late, but any chance Conan will come back to NY?
Denise
I wonder how they keep tract of a terriorist or an unwelcome guest on their so called lists of people, since the election of President Obama I have been receiving email from him and his campaign commitiee, not sure how , not on any lists?
Saera El Paso, TX
Last Call will stay remain after Conan.
Will kids of that generation be able to write? (print, etc)....
People's hand-writing today is awful!
Whatever happened to learning cursive writing?
