We have breaking news on the security failure at Newark Liberty International Airport over the weekend. It's new evidence the system set up to keep us all safe when we fly simply does not work. Plus, Pres. Obama blasts the intelligence community for failures linked the attempted Christmas Day bombing on a U.S. airliner.

Here are some of them:
1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")

3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

Have a great night and sleep tight everyone!!!! 😀
Day of the shot with hero the students told bus driver get off and save their lives........ Not good idea to drive and drink alcohol during drive.
Anderson,
Have a great night, good sleep at home after work!!!! See you tomorrow night!!! Have a plenty sleep! 😀
Love you on the segway Andy! 🙂 Don't hurt yourself though!
Andreson,
Great interview with Dean Kamen ... I wish there was more time! There is so much to talk about!
wow i glad i don't have young children or my child was on that bus..
who ever that driver was just get the charge of attempted murder for driving drunk with children,
@Pat, Oak Hill, Ohio
"Would love to see the race on an ice rink, ouch."
Sweet!
Give them some hockey sticks and watch them go!! 😛
don't hit your head on the way out!
Goodnight Anderson, Erica, AC360 and CNN Staff, great job, and thanks to fellow bloggers, be safe and embrace the new decade.
the robotic arm fascinates me!
Three items I can't live without. Hmm (thinking). Computer, some kind of telephone, microwave oven?
We have a guy in town who does architectural tours on Segways–very cool.
Dean Kamen should be helping set up the programs in school systems.
Jim Balsillie gets my vote! (RIM founder – can't live w/out the Blackberry!)
Would love to see the race on an ice rink, ouch...
I agree with Dean Kamen. If the kids aren't educated and encouraged they will not be innovative or creative. However, I hope the next generation will concentrate more on things that will be helpful to society rather than inventing another new form of entertainment. We have plenty of that already.
Anderson,
I agree with all bloggers, You need that, too...... Maybe you use best segway instead walking to work...... LOL! 🙂 it works for me!
We don't have an innovation culture, we have an entitlement culture. Health care is a perfect example. Rather than working to get health care, too many people feel it should be given to them.
Innovation starts with a simple idea just to make mankind a little bit better!
M.Kamen makes good sense! He's right in many ways.
Our culture, individuals & businesses should be very involved with health care, green innovations, technology, etc.
He is also right about our children. We need to really encourage our children and young people in math & science. We need to support them in creating innovations.
Anderson, thank you for this piece.
Great questions Anderson!
I was just going to say TIME TRAVEL!!! How awesome would that be!!
I fully agree with Dean, India and China has so many new engineers and America's school system is dilapidated and really lacking. 10% of entire student bodys in America are homeless teens!
Innovation, creativity, dreaming, using imaginations....do kids get encouragement to use these skills now?
Anderson: that was a great way to open the (segway) segment! Awesome. Dean Kamen is just brilliant. Wish there were more Dean´s around. I look forward to your "What´s Ahead" series!
@ Emily and Jo Ann I agree, shouldn't take over 2 weeks to repair surveillance cameras.
I imagine if the WH social secretary had appeared before congress, that would've been taking her part of the hit. Sally Quinn's pt about he safety of the WH is key. It is a clearer situation than the attempted attack on the NW flight, both the Social Secretary and Secret Service (WH Security chief?) are on the hotseat.
Does Dean Kamen recommend building a Terminator Series to replace US Soldiers on the ground?
We need more people like this in the world , every good wish for all his projects.
Anderson looks good on his Segway!!!!
Innovators are like great artists. Few and far between! I wish I had a mind for innovation.
Typically, Western Medical machines cost ten's of millions of dollars and patients are the ones paying for those costs. We need cheaper innovations and low cost technology in the health fields.
Anderson, where's your helmet?!!
You looked great riding that Segway, Anderson, esp in that suit!
Anderson, you should use more the Segway! It was great! 😉
Isn't this the guy who said that scooter was going to change the way everybody gets around? I've seen less than ten of them.
Has the Segway been as popular as people thought that it would be?
I know that there was much hype about it when it first came out....
Has it really lived up to what people expected it to be?
am looking forward to this new "what's next" series. fresh year, fresh decade, fresh starts. hope the series extends past this week. technology is wonderful if it's not abused.
The Presidents security is in the hands of the Secret Service. Period. As much as Ms. Quinn would like for Desiree Rodgers to resin to make the President look artificially good, it is not the solution to the problem. The problem being that when it was established they were not on a list of invitees, the crashers should have been turned away BY the Secret Service! No exceptions. period. Firing someone to make yourself appear to look good is not the way President Obama operates.
Wow!!!! I love this... That will be future technology!!!!!! I love his new segway...... I wish I want segway to buy, But it is very expensive!!!!!! I like Anderson took ride segway!!!!!! 🙂
I do not see the purpose of pointing fingers and firing people. The people who were involved, I am sure will never repeat the mistakes that were made. Why not let them learn from their mistakes. Mistakes make us that much better at what we do if we learn from them.
wow with the lack of screening, I bet a pizza delivey guy could get into the party
Anderson, will you trade your bike for a segway? 😀
Anderson,
Ask the scooter guy if investord made money on the idea.
Carlos
@Valerie NYC, unless the crashers lied to the secret service when they entered they broke no laws. Lying to federal officials is a crime; just walking in the door s not.
I need to get a better understanding of the watch list, Lets see I watch this guy get on a american plane & I watch him blow up a american plane with hundreds of innocent men women & children on board from any country. I have a real problem with this !
Anderson, you seem to be having alot of fun. You are in touch with your inner child. That' s super cool!
Anderson, looks like your hauling pretty fast on that segue!
Anderson looks like he was speeding!
Sally Quinn... good point! But I doubt Desiree Rogers will resign. She's too connected with Michelle Obama. Its like asking Oprah to fire her bestfriend, Gayle. Embarrassing? Yes, but its the right thing to do.
@Darrell,
funny about the WHS Dinners ... sounds like there are many that prefer McDonalds, however!
I have always wanted a Segue. They look like fun.
