What's with Cheney saying Obama doesn't acknowledge a war is going on? Cheney just seems to be unwilling to admit he is no longer in power.
Budget cutbacks and outsourcing our security jobs to the lowest bidder is displaying great security gaps in most of our systems. Hiring minimum wage personnel to handle such jobs only invites national disasters.
Good evening, Anderson and to your amazing 360 staff. HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all! Glad to be back here in the states ( was in Manila Philippines for two weeks and had to watch you at odd hours! –Its cool ). Busy night, already !
We live in a freaful orld, tells us that we as American MUST to stand against the evik. Beyond iur party affiations.
Hello everyone!
Inaugural terror threat...the importance of experience pays off as it relates to our National Security personnel.
Happy New Year Anderson!
First things first, Happy 2010. Second, rewind, New Years eve was fun but very difficult to watch. Maybe its a good thing this year it was shorter. Anderson, you do an awesome job and am a great fan of yours. You are great at what you do! Could you host the show solo or pick a different co-host in the future? Just thought this may help. Let's call a spade a spade and keep up your top notch abilities plus wasn't this meant to be a family show?
Aas for today's news....
Happy New Year Anderson,
Looking forward to blogging with AC360 well into 2010!
Yemen is turning into a proxy war between Saudi Arabia and the Iranian backed Shiite Muslims residing in Yemen.
I figured that there would be some kind of threat on Inauguration Day.
Thank God it went without incident.
Great insights into alternative plans and how twisted things could get with threats not necessarily from terrorits.
Cynthia, NC
Yes, There are safe courthouse, they have security system, Most courthouse have there or not. There many security guards in courthouse.
Wow, that is some news about the threats at the time of the inauguration. I'm sure there are alot of threats we don't hear about. We can only do so much to protect ourselves but I'm sure the White House can do a better job of securing their own events, that's for sure.
"Inaugural Terror Threat" ...I'm not surprised to hear that there was "Terror Threat". There are so many 'crazies" that would be looking to 'make a name for themselves"...
...I'm sure that the President, whomever it is at the time, would be open to threats often.
We have more terrorism her in America people just taking upon themselves to go to a court house or a casino, and kill everyone this is terrorism this guy new he is going to die today, this no deferent from a suicide boomer on as bus or airplane, think about it,
The President and his family always target. Every care is due!
Good evening Anderson! Hope you had a good weekend! It's only the 4th day of the new year and so much is happening in the world...
Happy New Year all!! Especially mother and baby!! I wish everyone had to go thru what we go thru at airports, if you're in a wheelchair you go thru a full search. I'm all for safety so don't mind!!
People have become desperate. It is sad the place the world has become..
Just imagine if everyone knew about the inauguration bombing.. there would be complete CHAOS. Thank God the bombing did not happen!
Good evening Anderson, Erica, Isabel, everyone. That is scary video and it hits the point, without proper security the courts are vulnerable, that includes judges, everyone involved in a case, and the public. It is unbelieveable that there isn't sufficient security in the courts in a major city like Birmingham. How many lives did those two security guards in Las Vegas save?
@o Ann, N. Royalton, OH(i have one letter key broken that begins your name-not doing typos)
You make an excellent point about lax security. It seems to be everywhere these days!
Just imagine if everyone knew about the ingruation bombing.. there would be complete CHAOS
Keep it up Anderson, love watching the show every night.
The shooting in the courthouse today was shocking, and sad. Are there no detectors going into court houses to protect our judges and witness' ? Judges get paid big bucks to make important calls, they'll important to the way our laws are viewed, and therefore are important...
It's a shame that in the end, everything comes back to HIGHER, TIGHTER SECURITY...soon we wont be able to walk into any building without being checked !
@ Natalie
"It shouldn't be a shock that more people are resorting to acts of violence..."
I think that you make a very good point here Natalie, however, it's Really something now that there is YouTube, etc. and we can see it all on the news at night! It's not just from the anchor anymore...really different seeing it!
Emily,
Yes, It was... long time around 5 between 10 minutes.
Good evening Anderson, Erica and fellow bloggers!
Sobering news today on terror, both international and domestic. Sheesh.
Good evening Anderson,
I am happy you are anchoring, as you explain what’s happening in the world very well.
Sincerely,

@starr formerly known as vincent, Happy New Year! Yes, I realize that is probably why they showed it, but I was just wondering if I was missing something else.
Good evening all. We know we have safety issues/concerns with air travel, now we have to include courthouses. And I thought a courthouse was safe and secure......
A "good news" story! 😀
Mother & baby son brought back to life?
Look forward to hearing more about that...
What a true blessing for the mother and baby!
If access to the weapons were not so easy ...
It seems like security has been lax everywhere lately, at the airport, in Afghanistan, at the court houses, and even at the White House.
It shouldn't be a shock that more people are resorting to acts of violence against judges and courts; judges these days are unprofessional, lazy, and in most cases incompetent. I was in court for a traffic violation and the judge attempted to flirt with me, and then dismissed the case. I have had friends sentenced simply because the judge didn't like the way they look. Sandra Day O'Conner is right-on in her efforts to reform how judges are picked - on merit, not election.
Wow, how long was this gunman fighting this SSC, that he lost?
The video is scary! Wow! At my courthouse, you have to be metal detected to go in. It is just like at the airport. If you buzz at all, you get the pat down. The big guy there is very serious.
JoAnn,
It is caught on tape by YouTube was recorded still shooting. Now Suspect was killed.
@o Ann, N, Royalton, OH
It's not what you see on the video, it's how many shots you hear on the video.
Hello Anderson, Erica, Megan, Martina, & Bloggers.
This is awful news about this shooting....the first time that I've heard about it and seen it.
Awful!
That's crazy .... to what extent despair arrives – or insanity!!
Good Evening Everyone 🙂
Goodness gracious! Why on earth are courthouses not protected against weapons!? I thought there were metal-dectors at the door before anyone enters!
Gloria,
You too. Happy New Year!!! 🙂
I have watched this video a number of times, but I am not sure what I am supposed to be seeing in it.
Happy New Year everyone! Hope this proves to be a great year for us all and our fellow citizens. The courthouse shooting is terrible – I can't believe how many shots were fired.
