    The cost of heath care will be carried by the same people who pay taxes now. 53% of us pay all taxes, and those taxes WILL go up.

    Healthcare should be a fundemental right of every American citizen. The need for expansion is long over due. The President is aware that critical healthcare expansion now, is far less costly than in the next administration or the next. His interest is with the American people, those with insurance and those without.

    David Gergen is really demonstrating his knowledge of how Congress and Washington works.As well as both reporters.

    I can't wait to see the CBO numbers to see if any of these ideas are feasible.

    @Muzzammil and Zaheer

    Im happy that you are both speaking out about this and saying that just beacuse there are a few bad apples that the whole bunch is not bad. I think it speaks more volume when it comes from the good apples

    @Muzzammil,

    You are also able to help find the people who do the "brainwashing".

    I'm not a Muslim; whomever "they" are, it would not be me that they would try to 'brainwash'.

    When politicians say government is inefficient, aren't they stating they are inefficient? If we can get to the moon we can become efficient!

    Wow, just found out that one of the men accused of terrorist ties is from my home town, Decatur, IL. I guess you never know what could happen these days. Anyway, Hi Anderson!

    December 9, 2009 at 10:40 pm |
  16. Muzzammil

    Vincent, I do speak out against these types of acts in my local community. The masjid I attend always speak of peace and we are working on becoming part of the community.

    Vincent the issue is media outlets have to reach out and give the Muslim community leaders an outlet to speak out against these types of acts. Rather than having a ndividual get on AC once in a blue moon, they need to have a segment where Muslims leaders can heard openly on TV.

    The question of money for abortion in health care reform should not be questioned. According to the Supreme Court of the United States, abortion is legal. People are using health care reform as their own personal platform to debate the legality of abortion. Health care reform will fund legal procedures. If you don't agree with the legality of the procedure, take your disagreement where it belongs: to the courts. Do NOT jeopardize the health care reform so desperately needed by so many citizens for your own personal agenda. Shame on you!

    Gosh, I am sorry you guys are fighting through this health care business. Canada's plan is not perfect but I've never feared that I couldn't get care. I definitely have had times in my life where knowing that safety net exists takes a load off my back.

    Good luck

    @Muzzammil,

    It's not just about ratings!
    Also, in your own neighborhood, etc.

    On CNN, they are pretty good about giving different sides, or opinions.
    It's people like yourself that need to be heard (and seen here), for others that blow themselves up (?) ....that's hard to understand!

    I'm sure that not all Muslims feel this way, however, yous also need to condemn it. Your voice is louder than mind in this issue.

    btw,
    glad to see many of yous here tonight!

    We need to get our infrastructure in line. Stop our people from trading sides. Stop the stupidness from within so our nation is good and strong again.

    Good Evening 360 Crew.

    It is Monica M. Williams; the one who provides recurrent value to your viewership through my creative production suggestions and witty commentary.

    Mr. Anderson Cooper, I loved the inclusion of your 2007 Greenland polar ice cap piece for the climate control discussion. The segment was new to me because I did not watch the show back then. However the discussion was not. I believe the inconvenient truth regarding our planet’s slow demise. I was enthralled by your journey because “to see a glacier” is on my Life’s To Do List. The irony: How long do I have to complete this goal before the shrinking polar region becomes my execution.

    The sad truth: Most people will only begin to care about this planet once a piece of sky falls down on them. Then it will become a matter of finding someone to sue over it.
    Have a great evening!

    @kenny,

    I'd want to make sure that I knew where those 5 were!

    did you hear if those 5 will be charged with anything that could have occurred over there in Pakistan?

    I think you're right about that.... I don't like the terrorism get out of jail...... I hope will stop violence in the world.

    Hi Erica, nice to see you, I think the edge would be having a security manual and knowing a bunch of security procedures.

    @Annie Kate, what I see is that they espouse unique pts of vw. Some seem misguided and confused. Maybe the person in Chicago seems the most hardcore, but he is not yet charged.

    @Emily, good pt, this news is a bit more scary given the TSA security Breach.

    Those two polar bears look like they're sleeping togther.

    i agree that most muslims are not radical. the moderate muslims need to speak out against the radicals in mosks and in their communities.

    December 9, 2009 at 10:32 pm |
  28. Muzzammil

    Emily it is difficult to speak out when the media feeds of negativity. There are many many Muslim they speak out against this type of act (including me), however Muslim speaking of peace and love will not bring rating of a show up. However I would like to see CNN bring in more and more Muslims who speak out against these radical acts.

    i do hope the implied threat of increased homegrown terrorism does not cause people to get ridiculously paranoid as that will just cause a further decay in social trust and acceptance

  30. Arzoo

    If we help resolve the conflicts in Middle East and South Asia, many of the reasons to justify these terror attacks will go away. Its frustrating to see that political issues are being used by these terrorists to spin their goals in a religious context.

    And yes, killing yourself or taking the life of an innocent is the biggest sin you can commit in Islam.

    Climate Change – Polar bears Shouldn't be in danger? Umm, Palin is from alaska right. I would think she should be the first person to jump on the bandwagon for climate change because some of the effects of climate change is appearing in that state? Aren't there villages/towns in alaska that are in danger of falling into the ocean because the tundra soil is too soft to hold the structures due to the increase in temperature?

    December 9, 2009 at 10:31 pm |
  32. Emily

    Sarah Palin says "they shouldn't be" ...why? because they have nothing to fear, no reason that they would be endangered?

    This should be good!

    @Muzzammil,

    "With so much anti Islamic coverage in the media, the Muslims who oppose the radical ideology are afraid of speaking out due to fear."

    I think they are more fearful of their own people than they are of anythng else.

    December 9, 2009 at 10:29 pm |
  37. Zaheer

    Mike, mosques and a lot of muslims do. It is a common practice that people generalize the actions of few to many. I think what is missing here is the voice of millions and millions of muslims who hate these actions.

    Zaheer I been to many masjids around the US and have never witnessed these radical ideology. It seems as though a great deal of brain washing is done on the internet rather than face to face.

    these 5 and others like them should lose their US citizenship and not ever be allowed to return.

    Anderson, perhaps you should point out that since the 1950's polar bear populations have increased from 5,000 to 25,000. Doesn't seem like they are in all that much trouble to me.

    @Megan,
    This is a spot where the law needs to catch up with the times by the sounds of it! (very odd that they were allowed out of jail).

    Evening Anderson and all

    I would be interested to hear if a psychologist had anything to add to this discussion of radicalization. (Elibiary is now largely answering my question) – Reminds me of the trend toward crips and bloods in LA in the 90s.

    Maybe they should tell them not to show up and then maybe they will crashed the appearance.

    @Zaheer,

    I think that Arzoo made a good point here on the blog by saying that more Muslims need to speak out against terrorism!

    The fact that the American Muslim group helped out here, it's a good sign.

    December 9, 2009 at 10:24 pm |

    This is probably not the invitation the Crashers were seeking.

    December 9, 2009 at 10:24 pm |

    @Shanny. With so much anti Islamic coverage in the media, the Muslims who oppose the radical ideology are afraid of speaking out due to fear. That is sad.
