Well, the President said he wanted transparency, but this breach in security is a little too transparent!

Many of those who voted for Obama did so because of his 'superior judgement.' So why aren't they backing that judgement now?

Having attended several US State Department functions in the Middle East, I can only assume it was a White House staffer that messed up and let the gate crashers in. Perhaps there was another guest with a similar name and the staffer became confused, but it is the White House, after all. One would expect better security procedures at the seat of government.

If I were President Obama, and Michelle Obama, I would trust NOONE ! - the secret service, has shown themselves to be incompetent.

    Shocking! Frightening and shocking!
Heads should roll at White House security. This is just totally unacceptable. Can't imagine how it could have happened. Looks like Presidential security was in party mode. Really shocking.

While a breach in security the couple tested the secret services security measures. I believe that if charges are brought the President should pardon the couple. As, this was thankfully a safe way for the Secret Service and White House Staff to find out they need to strengthen their security.

Let's jail that reality couple who broke the law. It is a felony. We jailed martha Stewart for lying.

Lets jail who ever leaked the number of troops to Afghanistan and CNN for reporting it.

Ok, so as a Liberal Canadian I fully support a transparent Obama administration, but jumping the security queue to get cozy with the President and the like is taking it a bit too far.

This is shocking! To think that the these people were allowed so close to the President, Vice President and other high officials. Not to be hysterical, but what if they were up to more than just 15 minutes of fame?

  14. Lui Bordier

This seems pretty pathetic on securities part, if they let something this small slip who no knows what will happen.

    November 25, 2009 at 10:17 pm |
  15. Eric

It is cool that those people got into that party at the white house. I think that if Obama is a US citizen and came from poor he would appreciate us poor fellow citizens to come in and mingle with him.

Since they did not do anything bad, whatever the fine is should be low or none at all.
Yes the Secret service has some explaining to do

Everyone who failed at their security job at the White House yesterday should be FIRED IMMEDIATELY!

And that couple who lied their way into the White House need to be arrested, and charge IMMEDIATELY!!!

She is one of the new "Housewives of DC" a reality show from Bravo. I saw her being filmed last week at my Hair Salon and he confirmed she is
one of the housewives...I am sure this was connected somehow to the show.......

Oh, the horror! Some regular folks were allowed into the state dinner. How did the elitists allow that?? I think it is hilarious! Good for them.

There should be more layers of security at the White House.
Listening to Dr Gupta seems like things were lax.

Even though they went through metal detectors, they could have had pockets full of anthrax powder, which would not have shown up, and exposed everyone there.

    November 25, 2009 at 10:15 pm |
  32. Mike

wow....so can anyone just get into the white house now??

    November 25, 2009 at 10:15 pm |
  33. Dennis

What about the Secret Service? Will they blame the Uniformed Division or the agents? What about the bosses who handled it? Also, if they were mentally unstable they still could have gotten through the magnetometers into the event...and who knows what they would have done. It sounds to me that management needs to be looked into.

They seem so totally poised. I don't get how they got in in the first place. Amazing the White House has to deal with party crashers. I guess they slipped in by the social secretary who was checking the guest list.
