Killings at the Canal: Wives

Abbie Boudreau and Scott Zamost
CNN Special Investigations Unit

The wives of the three sergeants say their husbands are war heroes who should not be in prison. Kim Hatley said her husband is a "good man...I don't think my husband should have gone to prison. I don't think that was fair. I don't think any of our soldiers should have gone to prison."

Read the testimony from the sergeant's wives.

I m Sorry to disagree with you (wives of the soldiers), but killing civilians with their hands tied behind their back is by no measure reflective of the virtues this great nation was built on and stands firm today.Killing unarmed civilians with a bullet to the back of their heads does not justify or even come close to classifying these men as heroes. There is a clear line on what makes us different from terrorists and that line must never be crossed.Saying that THIS IS WAR would be a poor effort at covering up a wrong doing.
