Tonight, raw politics. A look at how Americans voted and what it means for the right, the left and independents. Plus, we're keeping them honest in California. A scathing report describes how authorities dropped the ball – big-time – and failed to keep track of accused rapist and kidnapper Philip Garrido while he was on parole. The missed opportunities and mistakes that may have cost Jaycee Dugard years of freedom.

Here are some of them:

1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

    The problem is Garrido was classified as low risk, all the problems cascade from that pt.

    I think Henry Wrinkler is addicted to all Mary Jane Ballner's massages, he seems totally content. She's good with cats too. Actually an informative two videos.

    Good night Isabel, good night everyone.

    Sex offenders simply should never be let back into society.

    Another "government" program that failed? States used to have better control. What has changed?

    November 4, 2009 at 10:54 pm |
  19. Heather - Spokane, WA

    If the police and parole officers were doing their jobs then we wouldnt have so many problems with sex offenders as we do now

    California is in a financial crisis. They have cut back on staff to the point that this will be overlooked.

    November 4, 2009 at 10:53 pm |
  21. Emily

    @Dodie,
    one can only hope that they no longer have their jobs, however, from what I hear there is an 'excuse'....the GPS was not working all the time, and they didn't know how to use it....etc, etc.

    Excellent report by Randi-Kaye!

    As usual, the panel discussion is very enlightening. Who knew that the ankle monitor was Not the answer at the time (i think it's getting better today).

    Wow, Lisa's story about the neighbor is really upsetting.

    November 4, 2009 at 10:52 pm |
  23. Lori

    Why was Garrido allowed to live so close to other children?

    November 4, 2009 at 10:52 pm |

    Anderson,
    I agree with you, It is so distrubing to see Jaycee..... I like Jeff and Lisa both comment, They are right. It is fail, and unbelieveable I have seen.

    @Dodie

    I guess I am a special kind of christian because I was taught to love others as I love myself........like the bible says to

    @Russ

    Yes I am. I have quite a few friends that are homosexuals and alot of them are better friends that my straight friends are. Why should it be ok for others to have rights and not them? We live in a free country, let them be free

    What about all the people that phoned in tips?
    If it shows that the tips were NOT followed up on, why can't you sue them?
    If they are NOT doing their job 90% of the time.....

    November 4, 2009 at 10:50 pm |
  28. Dodie ~ California

    @Emily

    I hope they lost their jobs.

    November 4, 2009 at 10:49 pm |

    The GPS didn't FAIL, it was the Agents that did NOT do their jobs that DID!
