Here are some of them:

1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

Look at the woman whose baby was dragged by the train. Notice the reaction on finding him/her safe. Relief. Not auditioning for a reality show.

The news of the interacial couple being denied a marriage license in LA is of no surprise to me. I grew up in the same parish, but I am orginally from and now live in the north. In the late 1960's this area still had separate entrances for whites and blacks at local doctor's offices and businesses. In 1968 when our town was forced to intergrate the public schools, white parents were so threathened by the possiblity of interracial relationships developing amoung their sons and daughters that they placed their children in private schools. There were still many whites that couldn't afford private schools so to resolve the issue, the boys and girls were separated within the school system. The "all white" school became the "all girls" school and the "all black" school became the "all boys" school." That didnt change until 1979, the year I graduated.

Regarding the Sweat Lodge deaths: There are two subjects that I have not yet heard addressed. The first is the blue plastic tarp that was used in the construction of the sweat lodge. Anyone who has taken part in genuine Native American ceremony's and incorporates them into their spirituality would know that using plastic in the construction of the lodge would create an extremely unsafe environment for the participants. The second, and arguably more important, factor is that from a spiritual perspective it is all but forbidden to accept money in exchange for participation in a sweat lodge ceremony. That would be tantamount to charging a cover charge to enter any other mainstream house of worship. Sweat lodges are the equivalent of a church, or mosque or temple. These charlatans who seek to profit from Native American religious tradition should be held accountable for their failures.

Very interesting story tonight. Thanks Sanjay. Maybe that lady in your story wasn't really in Heaven like she thinks....didn't she say her X-spouse was there?

Have a great evening everyone at CNN.
