This story of Letterman is so exaggerated!
He was wrong, apologized and ready! The rest is between him and his wife!

Not wanting to admit that an innocent man might have been executed is the ultimate cowardice!!

  12. Megan Dresslar - Shoreline, WA

Governor Perry is flat wrong to executed wrong man!!! he is really stupid, I agree with him, I hope he is clear his name.

Gov Perry is covering up for his mistakes and is just trying to get re elected. I wonder how many other people that could have been innocent were put to death on this man's watch.

Thank you Gary Tuchman for this story.
I am hopeful that the military will have some compassionfor this man. It does sound like PTSD.

I think Gov. Perry needs to face the music and come out with the results of the recent panel investigation into the fire and the execution of what is beginning to look like an "innocent" man.

rick perry – texas governor – seems to have gotten caught in the race to put the most people to death to win votes...sad this country has totally gone away rehabilitation...and its all about punishment...what do we expect when people get out....

At first I thought it was outrageous that the hotel put the man in the room next to Ms. Andrews, as he requested. After thinking about it though, the hotel probably thought it was just one friend wanting the room next to another friend. I had never heard of Erin Andrews before all this happened. Asking for the room next to Anderson Cooper might be another matter.......

sounds like this Army deserter needs ot be locked up right now as he doesnt sound like he's in the right state of mind, for everyone's safety.

  22. Casey Jones - Palm Springs, CA

@Ipfong....Hotels do NOT give out guest information. The liability would be too great. The perpetrator had access to all the information he needed to find out where the reporter was, not through the hotel.

Straight up question, what about people who can't take the regular flu vaccine, will they not be able to take the H1N1 vaccine?

I wonder about side effects of the vaccine, too.

It's amazing that no one saw that guy video taping through the peep hole.

    October 5, 2009 at 10:53 pm |
  24. Kathryn Davis, MD

I am a pediatrician in Michigan. Dr. Oz's final comments regarding his family receiving the H1N1 vaccine were irresponsible, especially with the insinuation that he was only getting the vaccine because his job requires it. His information about the vaccine was correct, as well as the need for at least 50% of the population to receive it. Any side effects from the vaccine appear to be mild, and the reality is H1N1 will kill people this fall and winter. He should be encouraging everyone eligible to be getting the vaccine, not feeding into people's mistrust of the vaccine science by stating his family will not be receiving it. when there is not reason to think that this vaccine is dangerous

Oh...Letterman's sex romp was while he's married. No wonder the blackmailer thought he had a chance. Anyway, in the end Letterman still will have to pay for this both monetarily and emotionally even if his wife forgives him.

Army Deserters.... Why do people join the military esp. during war times if they are not prepared to fight?
This is not something that I understand.
I would never make a career out of something that I knew I would be unable to handle. There would be NO second guessing a career like that one!

Why did the hotel give up Erin Andrew's informations so easily? Where's the security?

    October 5, 2009 at 10:50 pm |
  32. Casey Jones - Palm Springs, CA

@Minou, You're assuming this reporter is a known celebrity–she isn't. Regardless, that is NOT an unsual request in a hotel for someone who knows the guest. He clearly knew the guest and could easily prove the connection. It's NOT irresponsible, it's accommodating. If the reporter knew something was "up," she would have alerted the various hotels and they would be on alert.

Men, Porn, and Stalkers...all evil topics when combined together...men are OK by themselves.

I don't dress in front of the door and won't walk around un clothed in a hotel room for any reason...now this makes another reason not to....yuck.

Adultry is such a pitiful situation. I am certain that what ever he thought he would get out if it is not worth the shame of having to disclose and apologize to his wife and fans.

Does the vaccine is really effective?
It was made in an emergency ... All tests were performed?

If the government is ordering only 250 million doses of the 2009 swine flu vaccine and there is more then 307 million living in the usa (according to the cia) how can everyone possibly get vaccinated?

No good anymore to ask why we took our eye off the ball. Afghanistan is now, again, the only game in town. More troops, in a strong, committed manner, certainly does appear (this time from competent advice) to be the only way to stop (not eliminate) an again growing Taliban military capability-the same theocracy that shielded and abetted Al Qaeda. A military solution is not the goal. However, it is a military that is strong enough, on the ground, to hold and build that can bring about the neccessary diplomatic leverage, not to declare victory, but rather a solution for the so citizens of Afghanistan , and the long term security of America-which is different than fighting to establish a nation built in our own image.

Erin Andrews couldn't begin to pay for his kind of publicity. She will be more famous after this than she ever was before.

Thank you Randi-Kaye for an excellent report.

This story truly is creepy and disgusting.

Why didn't the hotels take notice of the request to be next door to this woman and intervene as she was a well known celebrity.? I know a request like that would have caught my attention.

The President did not loose the bid for Chicago, the city lost itself. Would have been nice also created jobs but the crime rate and last weeks tragic death of the high school kid. Sealed Chicago's fate on the bid. The Skit was also funny! It's jokes just jokes! Laugh and lets get the country back on track. We need all Americans to pitch in regardless of color and make our great nation a whole again.

Re: Letterman –> Since so many people think this is such a chuckle, when does the star's tomcatting the female staff become a "hostile workplace?" I guess it's when he says so - congratulations Davie-poo.

How can you tell if a peep hole has been tampered with–obviously she didn't notice and it sounds liek something any staff member wouldn't notice. Asking for a room next to someone is a very common request in a hotel.

    October 5, 2009 at 10:46 pm |
  45. David, Indiana

Fred Armisen is hilarious. But I don't have that feeling that the President isn't making headway on those things. I think he's just run smack into the American political process, but I feel he has momentum.

@starr formerly known as vincent–I wondered why that outposts were set in a valley other outposts I've seen were on high points ridges hilltops, mountain tops.

Nuristan, the land of enlightenment, beautiful wilderness ironically in the middle of a country wracked by war and conflict.

That is sooooo creepy! Ladies, time to block the peephole in hotel rooms. I remembered that Erica also said to watch your computer's webcam, that people can hack in. yuck.

Can you say psycho? Poor Erin Andrews. I am surprised that TMZ didn't post the videos. What's up with hotel security at these places aren't there cameras on the halls?
