President Obama, in his address to the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday, announced the next phase in America's efforts to finally end the decades-long Israeli-Arab conflict and remove one of the greatest destabilizing elements to America's national security interests from the Middle East playing field.
Like health care reform, this is a daunting task, and in order for the president to be the last one confronting this, Congress and Americans of all stripes should be supporting him.
The president made it clear that the United States wants permanent status negotiations to begin without preconditions based on the parameters from past negotiations: security for Israel and Palestine, refugees, borders and Jerusalem. The president added that the United States seeks peace agreements on all fronts, including with Syria and Lebanon.

I don't understand why we should have such a big thing to protect Isreal. Where are they when we have our boys dying fighting a war to rid the world of terrorist. Why aren't they sending their troops to help us..
I think we should mind our own business and not tell Isreal what to do. Its their country their people. Would Obama like it if Canada told us they wanted parts our border states or not build.
The speech of President Obama, yesterday was a breakthrough. The world claimed until recently the American unilateralism and the US thought they alone could solve all problems. In his words, President Obama was against just that. This is good for the U.S. and the world.
I have always supported a two-state solution, one for the Jews and one for the Palestinians. If anyone has a better idea, I've never heard it. Even so, nothing ever really comes of this, except more talks about having more talks.
First of all, let all Islamic countries surrounding the country of Israel recognise its sovereignity. Then Israel can very well start its negotiations with the palestinians . The challenge before the world is how to contain Islamic terrorism . Israel is the only country putting up brave face against the terrorism launched by islam. Kindly support israel in its mission.

PROGRESS!!!
All I heard from Obama was the same ole same ole, him downing the U.S. and blaming us for everything and buddying up with our supposed enemies while pushing our allies away. If this is going to help our foreign policy I don't see how!
