Why this emotional reaction on Khadaffi, however I dispice the guy, if people like yasser arafat a well known active terrorist, even was welcome at the white house and other presidential places????

@Minou, the man has been a proven sponsor and director of terrorist attacks against us. Why would we ever want a 'dialog' with him? If this is the President's idea of diplomacy it's a disgrace.

@Emily, thanks for saying that, my thoughts are with people in Georgia as well.

@Candy Kelly He could stay in any of a number of hotels in the NYC area.

Sorry, correction to my prev post, I was thinking of when Gadhafi pitched a tent in France.

@Isabel glad to be here with you too.

This is what this new government is doing, Ghadafi should have never been allowed in US soil, Trump should move to Libya also. What can we expect in the future? Osama Bin Laden partying in Vegas?

passingers in a flight.Did D.Trump forget that, and support a bad game Gadhafi? There will be never forget or forgive.Remember the victims

I am not sure the United States could keep him from
coming to the UN. Even though the United Nations is
located in America, people can not be barred from
coming to the UN it is considered to be international
    soil.

why is a rabbi discussing the Ghadhafi issue? this has nothing to do with religion.

My grandparents and parents grew up in the Jim Crow south where they could not stay in a hotel or drank out of a water fountain without risking their lives. We may disagree with Gadhafi but we claim to be a country based on equality fairness. This is an insult to all those who sacrificed for civil rights.

    Good Evening all.
Gadhafi has some nerve! Just pitch a tent on private property and settle in. This is America Gadhafi, We live in homes and or visit friends in home. You are not wanted here!

Gadhafi is a leader of a country, true the Libya leader has ties with terror, so did Bush and Bin Liden. The troops are fighting for our freedoms. Trumps property, Trumps right. Israel and America has taken property, and I love America, some of my best friends are troops.

Lets not forget that the U.N. HQ being located in N.Y.C. requires all leaders from all around the world to be present in the u.s.. Had the U.N. HQ was in another part of the world the Isreali delegates would have to be told that they are not so welcome in there just as bad as some of the world leaders are not welcome here in the U.S.

good evening Anderson, Erica and fellow bloggers.

Gadhafi in my opinion, should only be allowed in the UN compound and no were else. He was/is a known terrorist against US and other countries of the world. He will not change now or in the future.

It's important for us to know who we're fighting, he is well under our surveillance since he has set foot on our soil, and getting a better idea of what his intentions are as well as our intentions may benefit toward ending a bitter struggle between us.

  19. Minou, New York City

The United Nations are not American soil! It's not the world leader's fault that the UN has its headquarters in the US. They should be able to come to the UN and stay here without having Americans complain. I don't think Gadhafi (or any other leader) should be able to leave NYC though, unless they have a visa.

I'm sure Donald Trump does business with Kadafi. The almighty buck trumps everything for all the greedy businessmen in this country.

    Hello Anderson and Erica

I don't like the idea of Kadafi being in the United Statres he will bring more trouble and why is he here any way ?

    September 22, 2009 at 10:12 pm |
  23. Steve

Khadafi is the last person who should even be allowed in this country, let alone to pitch a tent on the Great American citizen Trumps property...This is the ultimate thumbing of his nose at us...once a terrorist forever and always a terrorist!

I think that this needs to be a question of do we allow too forgive a forget or keep the hatred alive by asking people to leave the free country

OMG! The administration is ready to 'move on'? What are they thinking? The man is a terrorist.

Gadhafi should stay in United Nations Headquarters. It is not part of the U.S. and, therefore, should be allowed to stay there.

  28. Marc, Minneapolis, MN

As a veteran of the war on terrorism, I didn't fight to let American businessmen and businesswomen forge closer ties to a man that sponsored a blood lust killing of 270 human beings. Trump, you are a disgrace to the American people for even thinking of letting that beast throw up his tent on your property...shame on you....

    September 22, 2009 at 10:12 pm |
  29. Suzanne

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

This man should not be welcomed in our country at all.

The fact that Donald Trump is facilitating him gives me even less respect for Mr. Trump than I had before (which was none).

    Where is his head?

    Obviously buried in greenbacks!!

    How disgusting.

OMG he is a terrorist. I'm appauled that Donald Trump is letting him on his property. Get out of our country Gadhafi!!!! Your NOT welcome.

I think this is overblown. No one is welcoming him. Why do they keep saying that. Let him put his tent up do his thing and then leave. No big deal. The best thing to do is ignore him.

what is he trying to accomplish by being in the United states?

    September 22, 2009 at 10:11 pm |
  34. Rachel - Cambridge, MA

Why does he want to have a tent there anyway? Is it just a political statement, or is he truly trying to reach out to people here?

    September 22, 2009 at 10:11 pm |
  35. Mike Armstrong TX.

Let him go pitch his tent on three mile island

    September 22, 2009 at 10:11 pm |
  36. Danielle - Long Beach, CA

I don't have a problem with Gadhafi being in the US, he's not going to be here long term and as long as he isn't pitching his tent in a cemetery or a school I don't think there's a problem. I wonder if the Rabbi was this vocal during visits by the Japanese Prime Minister. Does anyone remember Pearl Harbor? We are a nation that forgives but we shouldn't forget.
