Jack Gray
AC360° Writer/Producer
Good evening and welcome to the AC360° Emmy Awards Live Blog. The winners, the losers, possible Kanye West interruptions…we’ve got your running commentary. And sure, considering all that’s going on in the world, the Emmys aren’t hugely important. But if you’re looking to get away from the bleak news-of-the-day for a few hours, then this blog is the place for you.
As for my qualifications to moderate this blog, well, I once saw Angela Lansbury in the grocery store.
We should point out that we’re not encouraging you to change the channel from CNN, but if you’re going to watch the Emmy Awards anyway, you might as well watch them with us.
And even if you’re not watching them, we think you’ll still enjoy the live blog. I’ll be with you from 8:00pm Eastern Time until the Emmys finish airing.
If you would like to participate in our Live Blog (and we hope you do) please follow our rules.
Here are some of them:
1) Please keep your comments short
2) Don’t write in ALL CAPS (we don’t like screaming)
3) Use your real name
Please note that due to volume we may not be able to post all comments.

There it is....Ken Howard taking care of both items....mentioning a rapper and a congressman.
I loved how Ken Howard sent shout outs to both Kanye and Joe Wilson. Equal time! Yeah!!
Cheers theme song and Party of Five...
Jack-have your dog grab me something to drink while he's at it!
Golum (Andy Serkis) should have won. He was sufficiently creepy as Rigaud in Little Dorrit!
Wow, this comment thing is great. To "chat" with fellow TV/movie buffs is great. Thanks AC 360!
What was that basketball show Ken Howard did in the 80's?
@Kimberley
I haven't seen the original documentary (Gray Gardens)!
Thanks for the tip ... I will see! 🙂
Stacy – – – me either! He always seems drunk...
No-tie Survivor guy Jeff rocked it. Liked his rugged,a bit dressed down look. raaaaar
@Diane: I forgot about that. Hm, yeah, I can't remember his name either.
did Drew Barrymore & Jessica Lange both just lose while I was thinking about food?
Oooo and Rowen and Martins Laugh In! Ok yep that was my fave show of all time lol ok I'm off the fave shows now promise...:D
I am making (vegan) macaroni and cheese as we type!
Sammy will learn one of these days, once she lays off the drink. 🙂
Hi Jack... are you having fun?.. just turned it on.. Love Kyra and Kevin...Classy couple
I loved Shohreh when she played the wife in the movie The House of Sand and Fog and on that season of 24.
Love me some Kevin Bacon
When will "best comedy" be given out?
Shohreh was awesome in 24 too!
Yey Shoreh! Amazing actress! She was fantastic in House of Sand and Fog too!
Jessica Lange camp here
My dog does not seem to understand the command "go make me some macaroni and cheese."
ok... are Kevin and Kyra just the cutest couple?!!
Guess I missed that one
I've never even heard of any of these mini-series. I didn't even know they still made them!
Kevin and Kyra are so cute together!
Then there was that show with that good lookin' guy with the salt & pepper hair who's on the news now, can't remember the name of the show;) lol jk
Can we just talk about Jon Cryers 30 layers of clothes and his vest being from Mr. Rogers closet?
"Taking Chance" with Kevin Bacon – if you haven't seen it, it is a MUST! One of only a handful of movies to ever make me cry.
@ jackgray "Especially if you’re veering down the cat lady path…it might be the intervention you need"
i resent that comment...nothing wrong with being a cat lady (i may be one when i grow up!) lol but Grey Gardens was fantastic, as was coco chanel
Grey Gardens, Grey Gardens, Grey Gardens!
Most reality show budgets are like $400K which is cheap for a network show. Minimum "salary" for a cast member on reality show can be as little as $700 or so bucks, so it cost alot less to make a reality show than a good drama/sitcom. If we keep watchin them, networks will continue to make them.
Love that Amazing Race won Reality Comptition. NPH is right – upsets at every turn!!
Neil Patrick Harris is doing great!!
Great opening by Neil Patrick Harris. Perfect choice for MC!! Lots of personality.
Joanne you're right! Does Ryan ever sleep?
@Isabel
Did you see the original documentary as well? Both are fantastic.
I don't really "get" Tracy Morgan. Is it just me?
The Amazing Race wins every year.
Shouldn't the people who actually were in the Amazing Race be the ones accepting the award?
Soooo glad Jeff Probst won whoot!
And it's not what happened ... Amazing Race
Love the Amazing Race!
If the Amazing Race lost after that tearjerker clip, I would have been angry.
Watching the Grey Gardens the movie first, followed by the original documentary, I was amazed how accurate in both character & visuals Drew's performance was to the actual "little Edie". Jessica Lange did a great job with Big Edie as well.
Love American Style back in the day was awesome.
I'll follow @JackGrayCNN anywhere 😉
Congrats to the Duckman!!
I think none will surpass American Idol, no?
I have never ever heard of the United States of Tara. And I watch a lot of TV.
