Good evening and welcome to the AC360° Emmy Awards Live Blog. The winners, the losers, possible Kanye West interruptions…we’ve got your running commentary. And sure, considering all that’s going on in the world, the Emmys aren’t hugely important. But if you’re looking to get away from the bleak news-of-the-day for a few hours, then this blog is the place for you.
As for my qualifications to moderate this blog, well, I once saw Angela Lansbury in the grocery store.
We should point out that we’re not encouraging you to change the channel from CNN, but if you’re going to watch the Emmy Awards anyway, you might as well watch them with us.
And even if you’re not watching them, we think you’ll still enjoy the live blog. I’ll be with you from 8:00pm Eastern Time until the Emmys finish airing.

@jamie – to me Sally Field seems to keep taking on identical character roles over and over again.
I can't remember her taking on a role that differs from her current Brothers/Sister's character (aka Steel Magnolias, Forrest Gump)..for a LONG time
I am not sure who Simon looks like in his glasses but it's not himself.
@jackgraycnn Do you at least get a feeling of gravitas from them? Perhaps others would find you very important if you wore them outdoors. I mean... not that the dog's respect isn't important... but... 😉
I really wanted Elizabeth to win for Peggy, but who can beat Glenn Close? But it's okay, this season of Mad Men is even better so there's always next year's awards.

the eyeglass frames that Simon Baker and I both have. well, he can pull them off....I only wear them inside my apartment because they make me look like Henry Kissinger.
Hughes did work on "Delta House" a TV series in the last 70's as a writer.
