Jack Gray
AC360° Writer/Producer

Good evening and welcome to the AC360° Emmy Awards Live Blog. The winners, the losers, possible Kanye West interruptions…we’ve got your running commentary. And sure, considering all that’s going on in the world, the Emmys aren’t hugely important. But if you’re looking to get away from the bleak news-of-the-day for a few hours, then this blog is the place for you.

As for my qualifications to moderate this blog, well, I once saw Angela Lansbury in the grocery store.

We should point out that we’re not encouraging you to change the channel from CNN, but if you’re going to watch the Emmy Awards anyway, you might as well watch them with us.

And even if you’re not watching them, we think you’ll still enjoy the live blog. I’ll be with you from 8:00pm Eastern Time until the Emmys finish airing.

If you would like to participate in our Live Blog (and we hope you do) please follow our rules.

Here are some of them:

1) Please keep your comments short
2) Don’t write in ALL CAPS (we don’t like screaming)
3) Use your real name

Please note that due to volume we may not be able to post all comments.

Wow- lots of important people died this year. What will Andy Rooney do without Walter Kronkite, Don Hewitt and Dominique Dunne. Sad times for American media.

We did lose a lot of people in the last year.I practically never make it through those segments without tearing up a bit, but that was harder than most. Recently, the loss of MJ, my favorite musical artist of all time and a good soul. But Michael Crichton was the reason I'm doing what I'm doing today, a true personal inspiration. It's sad to think I won't ever get to meet and thank him.

Everytime Sarah Mclachlan sings this song I always think of JFK jr. his wife Carolyn and her sister Lauren.

Nice tribute to the many the world has lost this year.

    September 20, 2009 at 10:28 pm |

Poignant tribute to those who passed. On another note, is Sarah McLachlan associated with anything not terribly depressing? First that homeless animal commercial, now this?

    September 20, 2009 at 10:28 pm |
  32. Kelly In Nebraska

Am I the only one slightly torn about clapping for the people who passed?
