My favorite was Ghost. I still cry when I see that movie. He had a real life, not a Hollywood one.

    City of Joy! Yes!

Worse than pain, cancer is isolation . Swayze was fortunate to be surrounded by his loving family through all of this.

I am at a total lost of words over the so-called grass roots movement by less than 1% of Americans against the President. There is no doubt in my mind that this movement is racially motivated. I feel no different that the majority of other African Decendants in this country. There has been a great push by some to sweep the very racist past of america under the rug. It is all to easy to hide racially motivated ideal behind politics. Healthcare! When did health care become such a heated topic that would make someone want to wish death on a person? When did it become okay to disrespect a President in the House? Black people are not at all decieved by these tactics. If you did a pole and ask how many black stil think that racism is a very big problem in this country I bet you that more than 70% will say yes. There is a Undercurrent of hate growing in this country, people are starting to polarize and it may very well be the fall of a country that has a History of Disregard for other unlike themselve. From the Native Americans, Japanese, Hispanic, to Ariabic world no one like america, Most Americans don't like America.

The organizer of the Tea Party Express says that Obama is an Indonesian, Racist in Chief Thug & that there is nothing wrong with the sign "Bury Obamacare with Kennedy." He said he only saw 5 objectional signs on his journey across America. I've never heard a more clinically delusional man in my life. I'm afraid of more than a logjam. I'm afraid of Helter Skelter.

The cancer and other diseases must be a priority for all the governments of the world, as many other world problems for all of us, we must remember we live in a small piece of rock in the space.

    Hey Jon...you tell your kids...
this is what happens when you invade a country & have no clear idea on how to pay for it....
These protesters are 8 years too late-where were you when the damage was being done?

Mark Williams is laughable. Even he could not spout his venom with a straight face, yet this is the racist vitriol that runs throughout recent protests and is being fanned by spokespeople like him.

Gergen is so calm in a verbal storm. Too bad we cannnot have more CIVIL discourse vs the unbelievable hatred from Mark Williams. He sees no connection to what ANderson you said is on his blog and that hatred out of his mouth. We are in trouble if that is what passes for the rights views. Incredible. Gergan... now there is someone special and cant get enoough of.

Thanks for the discussion about the anti-Obama hysteria. But I do not agree with equating this fringe element on the right with the anti-war protesters on the left. Bush was indeed called a lot of names after he started a war based on exaggeration and false pretenses. Whereas Obama is being called Hitler, communist, etc., becuase he is proposing government involvement in health care.

And how can conservatives keep calling Obama a racist with no evidence, but no one can dare suggest that racism is part of the motivation for the right wing protesters?

I have always been an independent voter but, the republicans are about to make me a "Staunch Democrat"" I dont understand the non-cooperation on issues that affect all of us. I guess politics are more important than we, the people are.

I would just like to say that my father who died 19 years ago was and the doctors could not figure his illness. He died misdiagnosed exactly a year later since he first had pain. The autopsy relieve that he had a cancerous tumor. My father did not drink nor did he smoke and he eat well with good nutritious food, when I also read about the possibility of stress and that is exactly what he had. Stress can kill you.

I loved Patrick Swayze in the North and South miniseries and watch it about twice a year because of him. People should really rent this "hidden gem" again. It is what made me like him as an actor.

I can't believe what Kanye did to Taylor. First of all he should mind his own business, he stole that poor girls thunder on the biggest night of her life. He had no right!!! So rude and no amount of apologizing from will ever make it up to her.

But good on Beyonce, such class and she is a true role model, for everyone!!

My deepest condolences to the Swayze family, but there has also been another passing that seems to have gone unnoticed. The great writer/musician Jim Carroll died this past Friday.

He revealed his incredible life thru his amazing body of work, which included The Basketball Diaries. He wrote with exquisite honesty, beauty, & purity. My condolences to his family & friends.
