Reporter's Note: The President’s wife, Michelle Obama, like many First Ladies, enjoys broader popularity than her husband. But sitting so close to power can bring a lot of scrutiny, and sometimes a little strangeness; the subject of my daily letter to the Oval Office.

Dear Mr. President,
Has Michelle being acting ok lately? I ask only because the soon-to-be First Lady of Japan is being a little…how should I say it? Peculiar. Odd. Or in diplomatic terms, she seems to be holding the patent on bananas.
Have you heard about this woman? Miyuki Hatoyama’s husband, the incoming Prime Minister, appears to be your run-of-the-mill political sensation. But his wife is something else.
Here is a short list of her claims:
She was taken from Earth by a triangular UFO. This is patently false, of course. As we know from dozens of old movies and hundreds of grainy, black and white photographs, UFO’s are round. Oblong sometimes. Nebulous occasionally. Lutheran now and then. But never triangular.
