It is gratifying to see this family statement – so often these cases end in tragedy and tears – this one that has ended in happiness and the return of Jaycee and her two daughters gives more hope to other parents who have a child lost that one day they may see their child again.
I watched the interview with Erica Hill and John Walsh. There are so
many things that come under the title of a Sex Offense today. We have so many strict laws that they did not have in the past years and it is so
difficult for the law officials to keep up with all of those with the Title
of Sex Offender. Everyone knows some one that has that Title and they
do not truly deserve to be in the same Catagory as the Sicko that kidnapped Jaycee.
John Walsh was saying that ONLY the Level 3 offender should
be watched Very close. The neighbors should be notified of the Sex
Offenders that were the Worst of the Worst. Those in the Level
3 Catagory.
If the public wants those tat are dangerous watched then the public
needs to know that not all Sex offfenders are as Dangerous as those
with the Level 3 catagory.
The Media is tying the hands of Law enforcement by scaring the public to death and this is why the worst of the worst are getting by
with their wrongs. Let the public know that not all are in the same
catagory.
There are so, so many reasons for having this offence and the public
is only aware of the horrible ways as with Couey and Jaycee's Kidnapper.
John Walsh had the right way. Watc the Level 3 Offenders.
Anderson, You are truly the only news reporter that is not a Drama
"King".
Criticizing The local Anticoch police for not checking the Garrido’s house 3 years ago is warrented, BUT how about the FBI eighteen years earlier! Where were they then? They are the ones who should be criticizied!!!
When this girl was taken in 1991, why didn’t the FBI run a list of kidnappers who had been released from prison in recent years (Garrido in 1988) find out where their crime was done (So. Lake Tahoe) and match it up with the kidnapping of Dugard (So. Lake Tahoe) and go to where he was living at the time and check him out!
He was and is on a life time parole, wearing an ankle bracelet. They should have known where to find him. They had a description of the car he used in the kidnapping, which he still had. Why not question the FBI! What did they do for this case back in 1991!!!
