CNN has learned that the federal budget deficit is now projected to be $9-trillion, over 10 years. That’s up from the previous estimate of $7-trillion.
Also tonight, confusion over a star athlete’s gender. 18-year old South African runner, Caster Semenya won the gold medal in the world women’s 800 meter event in Berlin. But that achievement has been overshadowed by a gender verification test ordered by athletic officials.

Hey Anderson
Maybe you know,i am German,we have one the best health care system,or maybe the best health care in the world.
Health care is very importent for people, but it has to be affordable
For example PSA Test you have to pay in Germany 40 Euro for your own
$9 Trillion?.....wow....our kid's kid's kid's will be paying this deficit down
Hi Anderson. Really enjoyed your interview on the Tom Ridge matter. You are so smart.... ie your comment that nobody would be that stupid to admit they were raising the alert for political reasons!!!! I had that thought yesterday so I'm very pleased you brought it up in your interview today. Love your show.
These numbers are so astronomical! 😮
Evening Anderson,
Great line of questioning on the Tom Ridge accusation. I agree with Paul. I never trusted George Bush. He's got them shifty eyes 😉
I believe that thanks to this out of control spending my children will have a lower quality of life than I will; a first in our country's history that a next generation will have a worse life than the present.
Look what difference does it really make? Nothing was really done, all they did was talk about it. And to be truthful, I would have rather they raised the alert and errored on the side of caution, then to ever have a repeat of 9-11!
How can you not believe Tom Ridge? As a Republican I am appalled that no one has figured this out...We as citizens lost more rights under a Republican President than in the history of our country. We lost these rights with a single stoke of the pen forming DHS.
hese numbers are so astronomical! 😮
Good evening Anderson, Erica, Isabel, everyone. Happy Friday all, sort of a hard path to get here, but glad to finally get here.
Bronze star for valor, I'd forgotten that. I don't think Tom Ridge is just trying to sell books. His comments are a jarring review of the Bush Admin. He would know that and not make such charges without being completely serious.
It does sound like the meeting in question was an impassioned discussion, a tussle actually.
It's fairly clear that Bush was prepared to do anything as long as he became President as both time and the evidence reflects for both elections. It provided the perfect conditions for Rumsfeld, Rove and Cheney to cause significant damage not only internally within the US but also abroad including Canada.
I don't trust the Bush administration's motives for anything they did, but I hesitate to believe allegations made by an ex-Bush adminstration official, too.

Unfortunately we see politicians around the world thinking more in their interests for to be in power than the general welfare.
It’s good to see foreigners here! Here in Brazil still is earlier … 11:13 pm yet!
That was a great debate. I think one of the best I've seen on 360. I would expect nothing less than "spin" from the person that chaired the meeting in question–that's her job. (Just for the record, the only person I trust less than a banker is a Republican.)
I think Ms. Townsend is tap dancing really, really fast. The old USA Today article pretty much settled it for me.
Wow, a 9 trillion dollar debt in the next 10 years. Kind off makes Bush look like a spendthrift. How can anyone think we can pay for health care too?
That man got all the right to say his say!
hey everyonee
Good evening everyone, finally friday! 😀
It's beyond ironic to hear Frances Townsend accuse someone else of exploiting 9-11.
Funny how whenever a former Bush Administration member has a book coming out they come up with shocking revelations.
Hi Anderson...Love the show
yes I believe that Bush used fear to win the election.
Good evening Anderson,
I am happy to see and hear you anchoring from safer places.
You do very well in reporting medical advancements.
Sincerely,

I hope you will get rest after show....... Wow!! 4am in the morning!
Anderson,
Hi–Happy Friday!
What Tom Ridge has written doesn't seem that extreme to me–the Bush administration certainly recognized the security issue as being one of their strong points during the 2004 campaign.
Hello and Happy Friday everyone! I think Mr. Ridge and his publishing company have timed the release of his book, just to increase sales.

It's good to see foreigners here! Here in Brazil still is earlier ... 11:09 pm yet! 🙂
Release the book!
Good evening Anderson and Fellow Bloggers –
Yeah, Paul Bagalia -
I think a lot of the public at the time knew the alerts were political - no one I knew was panicing when the alerts were raised. I remember attending college football games and having extra searches because of the alerts - and people were more frustrated with standing in long lines, rather than concerned about a terror attack.
I agree, Isabel...using fear to reach one's own ends is never good.
Everything is politic that what concerns are all about politics.
This is why I like Anderson, he doesn't hold back asking the obvious and tough questions even when who he's asking works for or is affiliated with his own network.
It's difficult to listen to the Bush Administration disputing Ridge's views considering how corrupt we've learned they were.
@Adeline,Luxembourg,but honest if not for Anderson show, nobody give so good information ,But i am happy that i am not the only Europan CNN AC watcher
happy Friday everyone!
Helloooo Anderson, Erica, Ed Henry, David Gergen and my friends Twitter/Facebook Bloggers!!!!!
Happy Friday night!!!!! 🙂
Yay!!!! I can’t wait forward this weekend!!!!!!
It's absurd to use fear as a political weapon. Well as it's absurd to use anything as an exchange of interests for votes.
Good Evening All!
Of course Ridge wants to sell books. It doesn't mean he's wrong.
Hi Isabel
Happy Friday everyone – put your seat belts on, it looks like an interesting ride tonight.

Hello David (Indiana), 360ºteam and bloggers!
Happy Friday everyone!
How in GOD'S name are we ever going to be able to pay off this massive debt? Somebody better take a step back and take a good hard look at things before we add anymore to this Debt. This is terrible!
Happy Friday all!
So the federal budget deficit is now projected to be $9-trillion, ha! That's AC's lunch money.
