Is Pres. Obama wavering on a key component of his health care reform plan? Tonight we'll look at what it could mean for you and your family. Plus, a deal to sell some Michael Jackson memorabilia. And, why you're likely carrying around cocaine in your pocket.

Yes, Michael Vick does deserve a 2nd chance; he has earned his opportunity to rejoin civilized society. Redemption? That has yet to be seen. Contriteness does not equal redemption. "'It' was unnecessary," does not equal: "What I did was horrible, and I am truly repentant for the pain and suffering I inflicted." - NFL? No. Let him bang nails. Maybe he can build a little character while he's at it.

The issue is not 'just dogs'. The issue is Vick, himself. His intent; the blackness of heart required to derive pleasure from the heinous, repeated, relentless torture of defenseless, helpless living creatures.

Professional athletes 'are' role models. They ALL should be held to a 'higher' standard of character and conduct, on and off the field. It is a privilege to be put on a pedestal and paid millions to entertain our children. This, Michael Vick does not deserve.

My opinion about Michael Vick is he enjoyed doing the dog fighting and the killing. He wasn't doing it for the money, he was doing it for the for the power he felt. I don't think he is one bit remorseful. If he had been doing it for the money, he would have been remorseful.

I mean, did you look at the smirk on his face during the interview. I didn't see any tears, I didn't see any remorse!

Is it really the Egyptian that looks like Michael or perhaps MJ decided to look like the Egyptian (i.e. all the cosmetic surgeries he's had)....guess we will never know....

Have a great evening bloggers! Nite all!

    Good night fellow bloggers.

I do not think Michael Vick should be allowed to play football again. He's not sorry for the animal abuse, he's sorry he got caught and I'm certain his tears were not for the horrible treatment of the dogs but for himself. Sorry Michael, I don't buy your apology.

I don't feel too sorry for millionaires in prison at all. Especially when they have a job waiting for them.

    In response to Michael Vick,

This is old news! What Mike Vick did indeed was horrible and wrong, but he paid his debt to society and he deserves a second chance. Who are we to judge him? And besides, God gives us second, third, and fourth chances to get our lives right. Let Mike Vick move on with his life as he puts this past behind him.

P.S. I am a dog owner and I love my dog! Resident of Newport News, Va.

    Anderson,
I don't think that Vick should be allowed to re-enter the NFL. I don't believe he has any real remorse for what he did, nor do I believe that just because he was convicted to 2 years in prison that he should be forgiven by the NFL and its fans for what he did.

  24. Alex (Aliso Viejo, Ca)

Good evening, everyone! 🙂 I don't believe Michael Vick's apology. It is too memorized devoid of true feelings making the sincerity factor below par. Anyway, as the SCOTUS expert says...he just needs to say sorry, shut up, move on and don't EVER and EVER as in EVER repeat it again.

President Obama needs a back-up plan if he is willing to give up the public option since it will defeat the main purpose of healthcare reform which is nationalization, accessibility and affordability. Health coop's won't meet nationalization agenda unless everybody is mandated to get healthcare coverage. As for America coming out of recession as dictated by our DOW. COME ON!!! We are doing healthcare reform. Hello! Another corporate industry??

    Good night! 🙂

I don't understand why Vick is even allowed back into the NFL. What a great role model. Torturing animals is sadistic, not normal. No amount of apology will change the fact that he was sick enough to do that in the first place. I can't believe that anyone is supportive of his returning to the NFL.

Anderson, please understand that Michael Vick has seen dog fighting since he was a young boy and in his mind it was o.k. He realized it was wrong, he paid his debt to society, please allow him to move on with his life. He is forgiven....

  31. Vicki from NJ

Where was Vick when the dogs were crying? Give me a break with his remark about crying while in prison…poor baby! If Michael Vick actively goes out there and helps shut down some of these now dog-fighting rings (which I’m sure he knows where they are since he was in it, big time)…and…(if he donates say $500,000/year of his big salary to the Humane Society of the US), maybe, just maybe, we will believe he’s truly sorry for what he’s done to animals who didn’t have a chance, then.

Michael Vick – you can tell by his body language he's nor sorry for what he did -only that he got caught. His lawyers are coaching him on how and what to say and act. He deserves everything he's received and more – and you watch he'll get caught again- he's hooked on it! Just like gambling or drugs! Yet the NFL just slaps his hand and then let's him sign a new contract Like nothing ever happened – the NFL is just as bad as our Congess – it's all about the money!

I am glad he is recovering and I hope that assailant gets it.

Vick has not been punished enough. Do not forget his actions were intentional, those dogs were not accidentally drowned and electorcuted.

what struck me was that, in the history of human nature, dogs are trained to give us companionship, trust, love much without much conditions.. and for MV to engage those puppies in cruelty, it's against the history..and u know what.
