I'm betting that the next time someone sees a break in happening in Gate's neighborhood they don't bother to call; and if they do call the cops will take their time coming.

    July 27, 2009 at 10:57 pm |
  19. Melba

The police were responding to a call that someone was trying to break into Mr. Gates home. Instead of showing his indentification to prove he was not an intruder, he began a tirade against the police, with derogatory comments. It was so bad that the police had no choice but arrest him. Mr. Gates actions are a perfect example of why there is still racism in America. It has nothing to do with racial profiling.

Reinstatement in the NFL for Michael Vick......I hoped it would never happen. It will be interesting to see which teams, if any, approach him about playing again.

I like the name daisy for a dog. that was a great story and what a beautiful dog

Why are some Blacks allowed to glamorize violence?
Michael Vick should just go away!
Its weird how the media wants Sarah Palin to go away and yet this same media embraces Michael Vick, who tortures animals!
I guess Vick is a money producer!
The media is destroying our country!

Wow. That's so cool about Daizy. Helps makes up for some of the non-news news stories we heard earlier.

I like the Daizy stories before the show ends–I can sleep.

Sarah Palin made the decision to become a "lame duck" governor and then used being a lame duck governor as an excuse for quitting. Seems to me the people of Alaska could have benefited greatly from having a lame duck governor....one not distracted and concerned with getting elected again.

I don't think that Palin finds the position as governor too difficult. I believe that she has other motives.

What prompted McCain to even consider Palin as a running mate? She's not cut out to be a leading politician... she obviously doesn't know what she's talking about half the time she makes a speech... And sometimes I even think Levi Johnston's claims are even believable.

think this incident is unfortunate on so many levels. Clearly this neighbor was trying to do the right thing. It is sad that we have a hard time accepting that some citizens don't see color. They just want to be good neighbors.what would people say if there was a real break in at the professors home and no one called tbe police. I'm sure that would be labeled racism also.

What is sad about Palin leaving is that she is not totally leaving. She loves the spotlight, there is no way she is not going to stay away from it. She is going to be doing the same thing she has been doing since the elecions and then she is going to blame others for the attention she is going to get

To compare the Skip Gate / Officer Crowley debacle to Rodney King is despicable. One is a case of too much testosterone; the other is a horrible moment in this nation's history.
