It was not surprising that investigators found bottles of prescription drugs in Michael Jackson's home, the singer's dermatologist said, as two sources told CNN that Jackson's sister Janet attempted an intervention two years ago.
I'm very shocked by it, but I have to tell you it's not something that would be unheard of," Dr. Arnold Klein said Wednesday on CNN's "Larry King Live," adding that he repeatedly warned Jackson about the danger of such drugs.
Meanwhile, two sources close to the Jackson family said Wednesday that sister Janet, the pop star, was so worried after visiting the emaciated singer in 2007 that she tried to stage an intervention with assistance from her other brothers.
Michael Jackson reportedly ordered his security guards not to let the family members in. He also refused to take calls from his mother, Katherine.
"If you tried to deal with him, he would shut you out," one source said. "You just wouldn't hear from him for long periods."

Oh, isn't it easy for us to judge? I just read the comments both positive and negative. Obviously some of you knew MJ intimately. If you didn't, how would you know that he was a child molester, a drug addict and/or a freak. A human being is dead and three innocent children have lost a father. Too bad he was not as perfect as some of you!

And as far as the children are concerned, they all look bi-racial to me.
I am glad that everything about MJ's drug addiction is out in the open and hopefully the doctors in question will pay a high price - jail -
What makes me sad are the children. Eventually they will learn about their father's addiction.

Why is it that all these people knew about the drug addiction but yet didn't decide to say anything about it till he dies.
Listening to Dr. Klein talk about drugs and procedures that were used and done was between Dr.Klein and his patient, I thought that was confidential?I think the Medical Board should step in.
If the mews would like to continue with there story about Michael Jackson drug problems that ok. But please leave those 3 beautiful childrens out of it. It is worng and unfair to put them throught all this.
And for the Doctor that are saying he is the father of the 2 older kids now, why he never said anything about it why Michael was living. But if that did happen you can bet he got paid a large sum of money to keep his mouth closed. So why not keep it close now. And all those peoples surrounding him they wasn't trying to stop him from using drugs, all they was after was his money. And his Doctors got paid well they became rich off of Michael. It is a shame we live in a world like we do.
He was a great person and was well recognized by more than just some,every one wished to be like MJ in one way or another, I do believe that he was the 'boss with the hotsauce" and he just did what everone in life wanted to do, or be"The best singer in the entire world". And ah as-if that wasn't enough.... well, we all know that he was also the best dancer in the entire world. Let us give him his propps. May he rest in peace.
Yea Pam and Robert.... I too wish they would stop the circus. OH every time they play his idiot brother with that stupid glove on I almost croak! I do like them talking about the drug addiction part though... Our society really needs the wake up call. People don't realize how bad prescription drug addiction is... but most are not like Michael.. we are paying for their addiction with our taxes!
I am a Rn. I work in a hospital. I see so much Prescription drug addiction it is pathetic. We get what we call "frequent flyers" who come in and will call for every narcotic the doctor orders and if he doesn't order what they want they make our busy day miserable. We are TAlking HUGE DOSES that would put down a horse.
I HOPE that Michael Jacksons death will put a stop to doctors creating and feeding Prescription narcotic addiction. Who knows it may have taken an event like this to stop the abuse.
Pam & Robert, no one has been FORCED to watch the Michael Jackson coverage. Michael was NEVER convicted of being a child molester and being a "serious drug addict" does not mean someone is a "freak." It amazes me how judgmental some people can be. How sad for you that you do not appear to have any compassion for three precious children who just lost their father.
@ Paul, Mike, Pam and Robert...MJ makes news just as Anna Nicole Smith made news at her passing. People love to judge what they do not know. Someone is responsible for what happened to MJ, just like Anna Nicole. Furthermore, MJ was aquitted of all charges – innocent until proven guilty. MJ's death was what God wanted not MJ. Things happen for a reason and MJ's children will be taken care of by God and MJ's family. Don't worry we definitely get all the other news as well. The media's job is done very well, informative. Leave MJ alone and let him RIP.
what is wrong with the so called plastic surgeon of michael jackson? seems to me that he is on something and how can he talk so publicly about a patinet.isn't that confidential?he should never be able to practice anywhere on anybody ,ever. what is his deal for real,he seems like a dr. frankenstein.he is a straight quack, a butcher who should not practice,along with his co-worker dr.murray.michael in no way was able to obtain the anesthetics that was in his posession without a licensed physician it is impossible for any lay person to get. they are licensed drug dealers and criminals and whom ever was in that circle should be imprisoned for life.you have to be held accountable for your actions, no matter what.these doctors mame and kill everyday without accountability andd it stops NOW!
I think you (AC360 featuring Dr. Gupta) are totally irresponsible in making judgment regarding the use of drugs by Michael Jackson based on "hear say". You have no proof regarding "40 zannies". Such comments are only harmful to the children and family. I truly believe indictments will come down in this case and that we will find that someone was responsible for this death. Have a little respect. It is amazing to me how very cold and hateful some people can be over one's death. This is a great loss to many, and it hurts me to see the cruelty in this world.
PS. As I recall, MJ was found 'not guilty' of the child molestation charges. Therefore, to refer to him as a child molester is inaccurate and unnecessary.
The issue of whether MJ was the 'father' of his children should be dropped. MJ is listed as their father on the birth records and therefore he is their father. He loved his children, cared for them, nurtured them, and they obviously enjoyed being together. That constitutes a father....not whether they share the same DNA. Please drop this....it is intrusive, rude and so unnecessary.
It sounds like MJ's family did their part in trying to intervene and
approach him about his drug usage. His response is the usual
response of an addict, to shut friends and family out as he doesn't want to hear it. I have the opinion of the LAPD in that it could very well be
an overdose by MJ or the doctor administering this drug, or negligent homicide by MJ or the attending doctor. The calls to 911 were put off too long and should have been called 45 minutes earlier and then those calls were very evasive as to who exactly was there and calling 911.
Very suspicious circumstances.
I feel bad for MJ's children and will keep them in my prayers.
They do, however, have a very good supportive family behind them,
especially their grandmother (Katherine).
The bloggers above who use the term "child molester" and "pedophile" should be ashamed. He was found not guilty in a U.S. Court. He paid to end a witch hunt, and yet; people exercising free speech in order to make horrific accusations in print. Shame on you. Why not remain silent, rather than disrespect the deceased, his family and his children. This is an example of extreme bad taste. The man was an entertainer. The news , in this case is not entertainment. This coverage is, at best, a form of venting grief for those of us who found Jackson exceptional!
Michael Jackson supposed Drug Abuse
I feel so much sorrow for what MJ went through in life and now his not with us and people still are speculating about his whole life.
First of all we all have to understand what kind of pain he was going through physically and emotionally. Physically I think there was pain, all the surgeries and what we have read of his cheek or cheeks collapse and his noise also I have read he had Lupus that a whole other list of symptoms. All of this had to be so physically painful. All that pain mixed with emotional pain I’m sure it was difficult for him to endure. And through all that he still gave us all that wonderful talent for which his named the KING of POP.
I think we have to see who is really responsible. Money can make some people forget what ethic is all about, The Golden Rule. I’ve had major surgery and I have asked my doctor to prescribe additional pain killers (Demerol, Percocet, Vicodin) just to mention some, but my doctor has an ethic code that all of us should have specially those that have the responsibility or promised to comply with the Hippocratic Medical Oath. When we put our lives in physician’s hands he/she should give us the proper advice and treatment, it should not matter how much money the patient offers.
And what about that doctor from the east coast the one that probably started him or introduced or probably gave him the wrong advice on the use of Diprivan, I guess he also shot his ethic and oath right out the window.
For me I hope he is in a better place where there is no pain or speculation and may GOD guide his family and wonderful children in the right path. And I will quote Mr. Sharpton

Millions & Millions of people worldwide love Michael for the person he is and always will be, a good human soul with a big heart, and more love to give then most people in this world put together. He always helped those in need and was selfless. You should know your facts before spreading hate. I am very disappointed with CNN on how they are making this big deal out of Michael Jacksons dermatologist may be the father of Jackson’s kids on all there programs.
There is no story it what so ever. When you donate sperm to a sperm bank you give up all rights to that sperm and you are not liable for how it is used from that day forward.
They can impregnate women or use it for lab research. If they impregnate 30 women with your sperm you are not liable for the babies born. I don’t even think there are judges that can supine a donor to take a DNA test, and if they could they still would not reveal the donor name for the sperm donor has rights. We will never know. The only story here is CNN harassing a sperm donor. We should be concentrating on the biological mother we know who she is.
NOW everyone is in agreement that MJ actually has a skin condition....NOW they listen to these stories.....NOW folks are coming out to support Michael's choice of skin color change. I like the story about Lee Thomas and how he wrote a memoir titled "Turning White"....where was HIS story when they were calling MJ wacko jacko? He needed to hear stories of other people with these skin conditions...how they struggled. Little too late now.
How come the doctor that called 911 didnt say MJ'S name when he called 911...Was he scared that he just did something terrilbly wrong and didnt want to get blamed...and why was he living with him HELLO...drugs!!!!!
I would like one simple question answered. We have now been forced to see over 2 weeks of a freak who was a child molester and a serious drug addict. What does this say to our young people when there are world events that are far more important – like perhaps what our wonderful President is doing who is someone to look up to.
When is CNN going to move on to something more important than Michael Jackson? For Gods Sake! Bury the freak and the subject!
@Paul, worse than the 24/7 coverage is the attempts to turn a drug addicted pedophile into a hero. How can he be called a great father when he essentially orphaned his children by his drug use? They will suffer their entire lives because of his selfishness.
I am very disappointed in how this dermatologist and others like him are picking apart this tragic event in these children's lives concerning the loss of THEIR DADDY, and it is so obvious that all he and his projections are focused on, is how much more $$$$ can he and his cohorts get out of these children's inheritance, wouldn't that just be wonderful for him, to exploit them at this time, make them hurt, make them "his" – no compassion, only greed, I keep hearing "what's the best interest of the children"- Michael is correct "they don't really care about us" – only what can be exploited, – and all this instant replay of the children and what was said to their daddy and the little doll, gosh! -doesn't anybody THINK ? the JACKSON children NEED their JACKSON grandparents and aunts and uncles to keep their daddy alive to them- be humans not tabloid rags. care. love. So what if the Doctor is the Father of the children, M.J. had a heart for all the children in the world, And wanted children of his own, And I truely believe that those 3 innocent children belong with there grandmonther and the Family. They will have a better life and a better chance of of being whatever they want in life.
And as far as the Doctor giving him drugs there is more to that then meets the eye?
p.s. When are we also going to make pharmaceutical companies as well as Drs more liable for not informing patients more about the dangers of addiction and other unwanted effects like insomnia of so many medications that are prescribed like candy by the psychiatric field and even primary Drs these days, even if you aren't a celebirty. They should have classes of drugs, and only for severe bed ridden pain should the addictive pain killers be allowed to be prescribed, and other classes of drugs to make Drs accountable to what they prescribe... for some people its like they handed an alcoholic a drink or a suicidal person a loaded gun!
Perhaps MJ has been addicted to drugs for longer than we know and it was that that clouded his judgement in his plastic surgery mutilations, and any weird and possible inappropriate behavoir that made him so susceptible to extortion and perhaps false accusations, for maybe in a drug haze even he doesn't know what happened in those beds with kids? And how good of a father could have really been if he has been so drugged as some are alleging?
Have none of you people ever heard of families and loved ones helping someone have children that is unable to have children of their own for whatever reason? You know like sisters helping sisters, or a sister helping a brother , or better yet how about a friend helping another friend have a family. HELL I've even heard of an older women in her fifties, that helped her son and daughter-in-law, have babies because they were unable to have them on their own, for medical reasons. Maybe this is what happened here?
Its too bad that Janet's intervention did not work. Maybe his children would still have their father with them today if Michael had listened to them. Also, I wonder if Michael's drug taking affected his relationship with his children? They may have more insight into how often he took drugs and how it affected him.
I guess "doctor/patient" privilege is a joke. Then, for the doctor who was there, on the day he died, to disappear & then reappear w/a lawyer . . . ? Whyyy does he need a lawyer? Did any of the five docs, who are listed for questioning, have MJ fill out & sign any med history forms "asking" what drugs are you taking? This is scary.

Why is it that we go on and on about Michael Jackson and not a word about the death on that same day of Ed Freeman, Medal of Honor Winner, or Ed McMahon, decorated WWII veteran, and brigadier general in the CA Air National Guard? No wonder the world hates us. We do seem to have all the wrong priorities. But I guess "that's entertainment"
It is confounding to me that the media has yet to ask the all important question: If MJ was not the father of the two older children, why not?
I can think of a few reasons why he might not want to sire children. He may have had an illness, such as AIDS, which could have been passed to his offspring through his fluids. He may have had damaged DNA which could manifest itself in the children. He may have had such self loathing that he could not bear to have his children carry the same cross as he.
If none of the above was true, he could have detested having sex witrh women, or one woman in particular, and as a result he could have used another man's sperm. But that does not explain why his sperm could not have been used to impregnate the woman without his participating in copulation.
Something is missing.
The public cares about the tragedy surrounding the life and death of Michael Jackson. It is true that very serious and sad events happen in war and peace worldwide; however, the news does include the details of MJ's passing, his life, his addictions and his family. It should not be upsetting to field the wave of news regarding him. Basically, turn the channel, turn attention to another news article or simply turn your head. Don't complain about the new coverage, that's pandering to self.
How can MJ's doctor go on TV and discuss Michael's use of drugs, his cosmetic surgery procedures, etc....

It is a shame that those who were working for Michael Jackson or surrounding him over a period of time at his home could not have intervened and let him continue using prescription drugs when they probably knew deep in their souls what was happening. People have to realize money isn't always what life is all about. If someone could have leveled with him and reminded him for the benefit of his children his health was importan and he needed to admitted to a hospital for treatment.
