The killing of former NFL quarterback Steve McNair has been classified as a murder-suicide carried out by his girlfriend, Nashville police Chief Ronal Serpas said Wednesday.

I’m not into sports, but even if I were, the man was wrong..I dont condone the girlfriend for murder/suicide…but he led her on and into believing the lies he most assuredly told her…
I do have sympathy for his kids knowing their dad died with “another” woman by his side..and He was exactly where he wanted to be..with another woman…I'm sure his wife already knew of his affairs..but love and/or money will keep many of wives with their cheating spouse. The price one pays for ADULTERY!
What a shame...
This was solved too quickly for me. So... many questions unanswered. First, why was McNair allowed to leave after the DUI stopped. I thought all front seat passengers are checked. What happen to the vehicle? Was the SUV impounded? What time did McNair bail his girlfriend out of jail? The papers are reporting that the Escalade was parked at the condo. Who drove the vehicle from the DUI scene and parked it at the condo? What time did people see McNair go into the condo? Why didn't Neeley call 911? Why did he call Rob Gaddy first? Why did take 45 minutes to call 911? Did the ME say how long the bodies had expired? Had rigor mortis set in? How long? What time did Neeley get to the condo. Was his cell phone records checked? I hope her family decides to investigate further.

My prayers will continue to go out to the McNair family. For Steve McNair to survive 13 years in the NFL and not have a blemish on his record, then to die and leave a shameful mess for his loved ones to deal with is pathetic. For all you cheating wonders of the world believe it or not this could be you embarassing your family in such a manner.
To say you love your family means you would never do anything to hurt them in secrecy or in public. All the adults who knew about this useless affair, shame on you for trying to cover it up. Be a real friend and totally abstain from it. My friends would not even tell me because I would have to get biblical on them. A young freak totally out of control and the nerve of her family to think it was okay to be a part of this affair.
This is a very,very ,very tragic situation.My heart goes out to both familes.Those kids does not deserve this...I hope all the other "Ballas"

Some people think this man ( and subsequently his wife and children ) deserved this because he was cheating?

It is really a crying shame when we play gender politics that end lives.
I was curious about Steve McNair's sons. I had always assumed that the four boys were kids that he had with his wife – but today there were postings saying he had two sons with her. So, are the other two boys from an earlier relationship/relationships/wife? Just wondering if he's been in this cycle of messing around for quite awhile. I really feel sorry for the sons he's left behind. I have a good idea – show his story to all these young kids who come into professional sports and given tons of money and the attitude that they can do anything they want without any consequences.

This is a textbook case of the ultimate form of control in abusive relationships. I have had much experience in family law and saw how abuse can escalate to paroxysitic form such as murder/suicide. Particularly, when a spuse becomes triangulated, the "girlfriend" can become insanely jealous." (My former husband was like that so I chose to divorce him. I've been relieved ever since and never regretted it) It is always a tragic event when it happens and my heartfelt condolences go out to the family.

Well, he took his chances dating an ugly, adultering, desperate, psycho (as he was too.) It's too bad they died for this but it's even worse for his wife & four children. She'll probably just continue as the best parent they've ever known. Best wishes.
Michael Jackon's personal life is not the world's business. It's ashame that the Media based all there information on speculation and heresay and rumors. Was he addicted to drugs, who's the real father of his children, where will he be buried, who should get the kids and who his estate goes to? I hope that hen you depart this earth that your so call friends and associates don't dog you out. Think About.

I'm sad for the sons who lost a father and for the wife that found out her husband was cheating on her this way. McNair's fault for cheating with a nut job.
This is a very sad situation for Steve's sons and loved ones. His sons will always be haunted by this senseless act. My concern is for his sons who are also victims, they shouldn't have to go though this.
I'm baffled why the police tried to make this more of a murdered couple than a murder-suicide. Someone has four holes, the other has one, the gun is under the gal. Also, cant police just take some samples right off a persons hand and tell if they fired a gun???
I dont get why this was kept like a mystery. Dude was married w/ four kids.... never had any intention of leaving the wife.... young gal pal aint gonna tolerate being the piece on the side.

why the secrecy?
I thought this sounded like a murder-suicide from the beginning because of the number of shots McNair took and the one she took and the gun being under her body. I feel for McNair's family – I just wonder if he and his wife were divorced, separated, or if he was just stepping out on her. If it was the latter then this was a horrible way to find out that your husband was still "dating". My condolences to the family.
