I grew up in Southern Louisiana when I first started listening to Micheal. The first song I ever heard was "Ben'. I then followed his music all of my life. I also moved to Southern California (North Hollywood). I grew up listening to all his music. His brothers and him were and still are great. Today we celebrate his life, some sadness but more smiles and happiness. That's the influence he left on us. He was good at that. I believe when a person puts them self out into this life we live in this way, it plants a seed in us and it grows and puts growth in whatever its meaning is and gives us hope and inspiration. We cling to it and it puts something inside of us to strive in, to have hope in, to believe in something. He did this to and for a lot of us. Not just here where we live in the United States, but throughout the world. His ability to do and be this way is a gift that God gives to certain people that He can use to bring hope to others in something. Whatever it may be, it gives others that feeling. He planted that seed in so many people around the world. This means he is special and has a special gift that produces fruit to many. He is still here in someway. He is happier now than he will ever will be. His continues walk in life in Christ. He will make it there. Another part of his spiritual life has just begun. We love you Micheal. We always will. Thank You for the music, the hope and inspiration that you brought to all of us all of our lives. May God Bless You & Forever Keep You. Thank You Again...Jeff Bryant
When I was a second grader back in the early '60's, I didn't understand why high school girls were crying and hysterical over a new pop sensation called The Beatles. AFter I graduated from college in the '70's, I watched grown women my moher's age openly weep in public over the death of Elvis. Today, I am a 53 year old career woman, wife and mother of grown childen and today I cried at the office as I tried to work and watch the Michael Jackson memorial. How powerful the music and culture, when one can be so moved over a person I never personally met. I understand now.
Michael Jackson was given a fitting send off, well done by all. As the tears welled up in my eyes I couldn't help but wonder why we as a human race does it take loosing one of God's greatest gifts to humanity for us to get the message that it is really as easy as just love one another? I hope we get it soon!
Michael you will be missed may you rest in peace, for there is no one like you. Your Legacy lives on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As i sit and type this it is still unbelievable and i'm still watching your memories on tv as of right now the world loved you. God Bless may you be free of pain and your kids may God Bless them and they will well be taken care of , as you are watching over them.
First My deepest prayers go out to the family. Now that Michael is gone be good to one another and carry on his Love help each other to take care of Michael most precious Gem Kids and Mom. He is now where he need to be His mission on earth is complete Marl on you said it He will be missed. I was so pleased with the service put on for MJ I cried smile in between those's tear you all cry remembers your not alone you have the love of the world and most of all God's love. I know the media has been it seems like dogging Mj out but I guess they have to do their job I think after the service they saw him as another human with feelings. Look at what they did Jesus and still he died for us. Love very powerful. Mom you know your son better than anyone fight for what he wanted if he didn't trust you he wouldn't ask you to do this. He knew you would have his best interest at heart. So don't let anyone or anything said make you wonder. I don't know you but from my own experience with my kids I tip my hat to you. His kids will be alright and I know the good Lord will watch over you and your grand kids. God Bless you all. Good job on the service Michael is very pleased. Janett

The pain for losing a loved one is sharp and too painfull to bear. But memories of changes you made in our live swill live in us forever.Death is very cruel. R.I.P MJ
To Katherine Jackson,
Thank-you for sharing your family and son Michael with the world ...I am 51 yrs old and grew up with the Jackson five . Michael was a showman and humanitarian of the likes we will probably never see again he possessed a special gift of empathy, love and passion to connect and touch people on all different levels, with his music...which we felt loud and clear with our heart and soul. He is looking down and smiling...knowing he made a difference. And we are in a better place for knowing him
Michael is truly an angel that has blessed all of us through his music and presence.
He has impacted so many people of all ages, races, and religions...it's true. My 1st grade class this year loved Michael Jackson. Most of my students' sadly to say didn't know of many historic leaders (while entering 1st grade)such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. or Rosa Parks but they surely knew who Michael Jackson was...at the end of their 1st grade experience, I made sure that they knew all of the past and present historical leaders and even more about Michael Jackson. With that being said, it is our duty to teach our future generation of all the great people who have contributed in making our WORLD a better place.
Michael you'll be missed but never forgotten...
Our Lord sent us an angel of music with a message of love, kindness, acceptance, peace and compassion. Thru Michael Jackson, I heard his message well. I hope the world will keep his hope of love, acceptance, peace and compassion going on forever. His music was an instrument that he mastered for the praise of the Lord. His dancing was an experience that was uplifting for our souls to feed off for the energy of joyand love and praise that was due to God. He was the sherpherd of love and hope. He made feeling loving ,giving ,kindness, peace and compassionate the true feelings to be shared by us all to be the TRUTH of life. A lesson to be learned by all.I thank Our Mighty Creator for the Angel Michael Jackson. We may have lost a shining star here on earth but the Heaven's shine much brighter now because he is truly home where he belongs with the other angels.Thank you for the most amazing and exuberating person that you were. I and my family send condolences to the Jackson family and I thank them for their unselfishnes of sharing Michael with us all.
in our hearts and in ourprayers you will always be.We will always love you.God bless you.
Anderson, thanks for keeping it tastefull, great job.
So unlike the hypocrites like nancy grace jumping on the bandwagon. Great job thank u, u are the best.
Raised in the era of the Jackson 5, I found it sad to see so many of Michael's "friends" leave his side during the "Wacko Jacko" times. And now I find it even more depressing to see these same friends coming together to sing his praises! He was true to *his* friends and no matter how cruel the media, he managed to remain true to himself.
Finally at peace, I lift my glass with "cheers" to Michael's commitment to being true to himself and all that he believed in!
Rest in peace Michael...lots of love & pray for you from us in indonesia...you are ð legend..no one can replace you...

Beloved son, brother, father, friend, icon , King of Pop Michael Jackson was a creative genius whose compassion for humanity will live on in the music he left behind. His soulful inspiration is a Light that like that Lamp once lit can light a million lamps, so too Michael Jackson's life and legacy now becomes our beacon of hope. Yes, it's true, we are the world, now let's make MJ proud and start really Giving! His children will be watching and waiting and letting their Light shine as they grow... may the years be kind, gracious to them, may God's love bring peace and healing into their hearts and to the hearts of everyone in the Jackson family.
Thank you to everyone at CNN for carrying the Michael Jackson Memorial today... we were just spellbound and lost in too many tears!
Was Michael Jackson really in the casket? Rumors are swirling around that his body was not in the casket. The fans should have gotten a public viewing of this great icon. Not fair.
May he finally be at peace. He will be GREATLY missed.
Greetings,
To The Jackson's Family,
You're loss is great and words alone cannot comfort you. I say to the family look to the hills all your help will come from the Lord, he will always be there to comfort you in your time of need. what a great picture but there were truly so many great pics of MJ thru his life, still this particular one lets me remember him as not tormented or ridiculed or even disliked...just care free. we should all try it.
Isn't it so sad that now this beautiful, tragic men has died that everyone all of a sudden has had an epiphany and realises what a gentle, giving kind men Michael really was.My heart aches by the way he has been treated. This child like soul can never be hurt by humanity again. Now that he is gone I hope people will stop exploiting and violating him.
Micheal my heartfelt wish for you is that– you are now in a place where you can have your happy childhood for eternity.
stevie wonder could see that michael was not himself at his final rehersal. if you look closely at the way mike was shaking his fingers that is a universal sign of a person with a very serious problem thats trying to hide the fact that somehting is wrong. he was in serious trouble that nite, and it should have been easy to see if he didnt have such a big dollar sign on his chest.
I always admired his musical ability. I was born in the 60's grew up in the 70's and 80's so his music was always out there.
The jackson family were very fortunate for someone like Barry Gordy to come along.
Michael will be missed by many.... but lets all remember he isnt a Saint... even though he was a good humanitarian.
He was an enigma and an anomoly. NO one will ever compare or even come close to him. Love you Michael.
I Sympathize with the Jackson family on the loss of their loved one.
I've Admired Michael Jackson every since I 1st saw him. It was the 2nd world tour when they were called the Jackson 5, when they came 2 my home town Milwaukee Wisconsin in 1971, that was the 1st and only live concert I ever went to in my life. I will always love all of the Jackson's music. I couldnt attend the memorial because I couldn't afford to travel, and my job helps me take care of many United States Soldiers to eat good meals. He would have been one year older than me. I will miss him, I thank God that I can always see him on my computer at home because I've always had some of his music video's and I will always have him in my heart.
See you soon Michael
I really wish I had been able to attend the services. But I certainly watched it live. I am so thankful to the family for allowing the fans to say our last goodbyes to our icon. I will stay in constant prayer for the entire family..esp the children. Michael, I love you. You greatly inspired me and u ignited the creative fire in me. I will strive to be like you..a humanitarian..a hard worker..a loving family member..an amazing friend..& an overall lover of life. Thank you Michael, for sharing your gift with the world. I feel blessed to have been alive during your reign. You will be missed & will live forever in my heart. Peace & Love
"Michael, I can feel your halo, I pray it won't fade away"
I love this program cover. I live in Mississippi and I of course could not make it to the service. I would like to know how can I get a copy of the memorial service program?
Someone said to me last week..."yeah, MJ was the greatest entertainer of all time, but how is he dubbed a great man?" I hope that person watched the memorial so that they would learn something new today.
It was an unforgettable memorial. I must say, Brooke brought tears to my eyes but Usher had me balling!
OMG!
In my 51 years, I've never experienced anything like this. Paris & Marlon jerked the emotions out of me.
Katherine & the entire family are in my prayers.
Protect the children. There is nothing like fatherless children
Bad video in the old NYC subways Classic!!!!!
I have to say that the whole memorial ceremony was wonderful, flawless & I think the 'King of Pop' would be proud. When Usher sang Gone To Soon, I broke down among other times & Paris was so brave-that really broke me down.. I know that Michael loved his children like nothing else in this world & I know they will miss him so much. May God bless the Jackson family & his 3 children... R.I.P. MICHAEL JACKSON – KING OF POP – WE WILL FOREVER LOVE YOU & KEEP YOU IN OUR HEARTS..... MUCH LOVE...
Thank You for great coverage CNN everything was beautiful , we Love Michael always, the real #1 Fan
I'm still surprised at the sadness I feel from his passing. I, like many, am guilty of ignoring him the past 15 years after I spent my childhood idolizing him. I would see him dance and hear his music and just think, "Wow!" I had never and never have seen anything like it, and wanted to be just like him.
Today, after watching the memorial, I felt like I had been to a funeral myself–the funeral of such a wonderful and inspiring part of my childhood.
I am so happy to hear all of the loving and heartwarming stories from people who KNEW him, not what the media made up about him. His family and closest friends paint a portrait of a man who was humble and sweet, and would never hurt anyone, let alone a child. These stories inspire me to look more closely at myself and to strive to be a better person.
"Good Night, Sweet Prince. And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."
I would like to thank you MJ for your music, talent and genius! May God bless you and your children. And as much as a dad is important in a child's life so is a mother. I hope in the end there will be collaboration and that their mother will be able to be a part of their lives and part of their healing (for all 3 children).
May God bless you all.
The Memorial was a wonderful celebration and a remembrance of everything he brought us and how human he was. And for his daughter to share her feelings with us was a great honor, and heartbreaking to hear. My heart goes out to the children and family in this difficult time. Hopefully one thing they are able to take away was just how much their father, son, brother was and still is loved. He will forever be the King of Pop and one of the greatest people of all time. We all have faults in life, but it's not our place to judge that is only for a higher power – we are after all only human.
Anderson,
Aren't there more important NEWS issues ie N. Korea, the riots in China? Please put the MJ story to rest. RIP the King of Pop and all the stories. Amen.
Thanks for the wall to wall MJ coverage.
Is CNN going to cover the murder of sailor August Provost at Camp Pendleton? He was a gay serviceman who was shoot while on guard duty.
Anything on Honduras? The suicide of mayor of the capitol city of Nicaragua?
Thank you for sharing this picture of the program so early. I love Michael and will always assoicate my growing up with him right beside me.
I hope he is smiling from Heaven on the today's Memorial, it was a very fitting farewell to the Man we all are talking about and missing right now.
Forever the King of Pop, farewell our brother.
I grew up listening to MJ and the rest of the Jackson family's music. MJ, had an impact on the world and for that we thank him. Thank you MJ for your sweet spirit and beautiful voice. God bless you. You are at peace. You have gone onto a better place. No more dying or crying. Your legacy will live on forever. You are the greatest entertainer past, present and future. God bless your family. We miss you.
I was well composed and unperturbed during the Memorial but the moment little Paris Katherine Jackson took the microphone and said goodbye to MJ, I completely lost it. I sobbed and was in tears while I looked at all my friends and everyone was broken up.
All the time, I saw these kids with veil or mask on their faces, now I know they are great sensitive kids. God Bless them. MJ rest in peace!!!
I agree with Priscilla @ 10:40 p.m. One moment you're showing his daughter giving her heartfelt speech and breaking down in tears, and the next thing I hear is: he was bald, deathly white, veins collapsed, etc. WTF was that? Besides VERY distasteful. Now I see why you weren't invited to the Memorial.
This memorial finally brought me some closure, but you disgusting comments shortly thereafter painted such a gruesome picture of our beloved Michael that I gasped in shock and grief.
Shouldn't you be writing for the National Enquirer?
God Bless Michael, now you will finally have peace.
MJ did a right thing by converting to Islam, May Allah forgive his sins, and bless him with Paradise for his good deeds
Thank you CNN for the excellent non stop coverage of Michael Jackson's memorial service..It was so real, memorable and moving in so many ways..Everyone involved in this service did such a fantastic job and paid a well-deserved tribute to the King. It is surreal to think that MJ's no more with us but I' m glad he has left an indelible mark in the music industry that no one can come close to. He is a true genius and is certainly " the greatest entertainer the world has ever known". RIP MJ...We love you..Thank you for sharing your immaculate gift with the rest of the world.
