President Obama is doing "all" that he should do, the USA should be the police of the world,
How soon we forget! Let's through our Democracy on to Iran like we did in Iraq. It works..you believe that if your George Bush. We are not the democracy police. Let Iran gain their own democracy. We didn't have anyone to jump in when we fought for our civil rights here in the United States. President Obama is doing what he should do. Remember he's Ba "rock"..Not the "rock. Get our country in shape and pray for our neighbor's abroad

Let us not make the violence in Iran be about American politics and about how America reacted. This about freedom for Iranians. They are not even asking for American support.
So what who cares. The S.C. Governor needs time off just like everyone else. It's a stressful job. Also his side kick the Lt. Governor, if he can't lead while the Governor is out he need not be in the position. A whole lot about nothing. I hope he enjoyed himself.
Obama did the right thing, especially when the incumbent Iranian government was looking to blame the United States for interfering in their elections and thus, sovereignty. What I think his critics are forgetting is that America's willingness to meddle in other countries' business is one of the reasons that Bush (and thus America) was so disliked abroad.
I think President Obama's tone is just right. I don't see Obama's critics interviewing Mousavi or his supporters to get their input. No news of Mousavi asking Obama to support him. These repubs. just want to stir the pot.
President Obama is doing exactly what he should be doing . . . watching, expressing grave concerns, contemplating options. The last President to do "more" started the War in Iraq over misinformation.
No. Conservatives want Obama to continue handling the Islamic mess properly.
I believe, in order to take tough stance against Iran, Neither the US nor any European countries should recognize Ahmadinezads presidency.
To me President Obama has done enough in concerns of dealing with Iran. The United States Of America has to stop thinking that we are the world police. This country has not gotten along with us for many years. We shouldn’t add more gasoline to the already lit fire of hatred towards Americans. Keep up the good work Obama

The United States shouldn't leap before looking and so I believe that President Obama and his administration are taking the correct approach by choosing not to get involved in a country's internal political struggles. Think of the reverse. I mean, would Americans want the Iranian government to get involved in our political process? I think not.
I feel Obama is like a filling inside a sandwish. Iran accuses him of interfering and the Americans accuse him of not interfering enough.
I am from Iran and I want to confirm that every single step that President Obama is doing is right for Iran. He already gained the trust of Iranian people and he is in their heart and mind. People are listening to what he says and that is all that is important. He has accomplished the most that any living president in the past thirty years has accomplished regarding the turmoil in Iran. God bless him for what he is doing for the United States and Iran.
It really is a "battle for Iran". I think this has transcended the election. It's about venting the frustrations with this great oppression and injustice that Iranians have to endure on a daily basis. The country consists of mainly young people. They are like us who live in free countries. All they want is freedom. This fight must not stop! I hope the news media will continue to cover this event.
President Obama is very reluctant to appear strong in defending those struggling for democracy as this would go against his principles of all talk and not wanting to take the lead.
He needs to take charge and layout a plan of action on what is needed to support them. He is NOT taking the lead and is NOT being a LEADER.
Although I believe things should be done in Iran, I can see that Obama wouldn't want to anger the current regime with possible consequences being harder chances of negotiations with Iran or a possible war with this very unpredictable and impulsive regime.
I Want to say that Iran have had so many different oposition groups for years . Before the shah . And the country been with so much politics from within the people &Europs-u.s- .The trueth is not because they care about Iranian people& democrecy. IS Because the outside polititions dont want Iran to get power in the middle east.So they keep playing with Iran . And they change the iranian government every 20 TO 25 YEARS . So it is time to change the government. they they leting young generation to do the job but it is not going to work this time.
I'm appauled that people think we should get involved. We are in two wars and in the very heart od the worst financial crisis since the great depression let some other country tell them what they they!

The U.S. should stay out of the Iran mess. While I sympathize with what's going on there, they need to sort out their situation for themselves. We certainly do not need another "Iraq situation."
OBAMA and IRAN:
I really don't see how he can do more than he is doing...he is after all the President of the US and not the world! Revolution...in any form must be allowed to run it's course to be effective and in Iran, we are seeing just that!
Obama is right, be like Teddy Roosevelt, "Talk softly and carry a big stick."
It does not matter what action President Obama takes, there are those that will find fault with it. He is standing tall considering some of the criticism he gets no matter what he does.

Islamic mess? This has nothing to do with Islam. The people of Iran are not protesting against religion. They are protesting against oppression. They want freedom like we have in the USA.

President Obama is doing the right thing by supporting rather than driving the apparent revolution in Iran. The hardliners already lable the protesters as playing in the hand of Iran's enemies so for those so called "enemies" to appear to be instigating revolt it would be counter productive and it would hurt the cause.
Less is more but just don't leave these brave men and women without the moral support and the much needed prayors.
The pain and suffering has gone on too long there and Presdient Obama has to get tougher with Iran .I agree that the change has to happen from within too The Iranain government has to enforce tougher regim .
I think Obama's statements so far and his wait and see attitude are right. We can't fight everyone's battles for them; in the past when we have tried we have had problems – remember Vietnam. Women rights are important but the Iranians will have to sort it out; perhaps they will get some help from the UN but for the most part I think they will find they can only depend on themselves in this fight.

2:To president Obama I just want to let you know that you are doing the right thing by not taking action but how long and what is it going to take for you to believe the Islamic Government can work with you.
The needless slaying of Neda should be an inspiration to us all, but the politics of the region belong in Iran and under Iranian control. It is their government and their laws, religion and traditions. They do not like the West and we should honor their beliefs and stay neutral. Their culture will change on its own and does need the US or any other country accelerating the process.

IMO i dont think we as americans should be doing any more helping. US has "helped" too many things before with disastrous consequences.
helping others in despair in other sovereign countries shouldnt be a a matter of a single country it should be a humanity's matter.

Obama really does seem irritated at the news, he wasn't only appalled, saddened and angered, those emotions carried on through out the entire news conference.
That is what Obama's action in defined by.

Pres. Obama is right about the Iranian people! The change must come from within. The more the USA tries to do, the more brutal the present regime in Iran will be with the people.
People are to used to W.'s we will conquer any country to make freedom happen. It just dosen't work that way!

Neda , should bloom in the Hearts and Sprits of ALL people. The other Brave Ladys and Men are actually an inspiration to Americans. To All people who live on the planet. America is not the Epitome of Freedom , we are only a part in the big world. These People in Iran and around the world help to hold up humanity. All are made mindfull of our sometimes Regretfull past. Our world has been made pretty small and the smaller it gets thru technology the more we see that all people play a part in inspiring others.We are connected Globaly,financialy, and thru business. Now, more so than ever ,and it is increasing, our need to enter, the international comunity as respectfully, as we can to all coultures.

Its unbelievable how brave these people are. our hats are off to them. Women came a full circle in Iran. During the shah the hejab was discouraged then the ayatollahs made the hejab dress code mandatory. Hopefuly once this regime is gone women will be free not wear the hejab but also have the freedom to do so, is they so chose.
