President Obama’s “pay-as-you-go’ proposal for federal spending has everyone talking: this rule would basically require Congress to balance any increased spending by equal savings elsewhere.

He says “paying for what you spend is basic common sense…perhaps that why here in Washington, it’s been so elusive”. Wait-is he implying there is no common sense in DC? Can that be? (insert ironic eye-roll).

The President must’ve had a close look at our federal deficit, now heading towards 1.8 trillion dollars this year, which is more than 4x last year’s all-time high. All those zero's, hard to comprehend.

Republican leaders are quick to pounce on the ‘pay-as-you-go’ idea, noting the President’s proposal comes after record spending initiatives by the Obama administration, such as the $787 billion economic stimulus program. Interesting stuff, we may chew on this tonight!

A French nuclear submarine joined the hunt for the ‘black box’ flight data recorders and other wreckage from Air France Flight 447 today, as more bodies are pulled from the Atlantic: 41 total. The bodies will undergo forensic testing in the event they offer clues as to what happened.

North Korea threatens a nuclear offensive against America, claiming it’s a response to US aggression, and US envoy Stephen Bosworth says the US has no intention to force regime change or provoke a fight. In other words, everyone just stay calm! Though the 2 journalists who were sentenced are probably anything but calm, we’re keeping an eye on any news of their fate.

Dan Simon has a super interesting story of a female LAPD cop who was busted for a homicide many years after the murder took place. As homicides in LA are falling to historic lows, LAPD detectives have had unusual freedom to open up cold cases as of late, and this particular one they cracked open led them to one of their own. You just can’t make this stuff up.

Sasha Obama turns 8 years old today. The First Family forgot to invite the AC360 team to the festivities in Paris, maybe they’re worried we will cause too much of a raucous? See u tonight!

Does it really surprise anyone that the Administration got all of their pet projects funded through the "Stimulus" Plan yet now they want to pass legislation to balance the budget?

As Mark Twain famously said, "I find common sense not that common."

President Obama suggests that a pay as you go plan is simply common sense; huh? say what? come again? excuse me?

Wasn't this the same president that rolled out the horrifyingly bad stimulus plan without anyone having read the small print?

Didn't he leverage the futures of the young and unborn for cold hard cash today? didn't he hit up hit up taxpayers? dispense bailout money only to have recipients try to give it back?

It's as if our leadership pratices on the American people and then expects us to be so dim, myopic and incompetent not to notice.

    Hi, Penny! Good afternoon!

So good that the search for the wreckage of Air France Airbus will be strengthened with five French vessels, including a submarine equipped with advanced sonar equipment. Every help is welcome!

If black-boxes are located, underwater robots, non-crewed aboard the vessel for French exploration and research may be used to recover the pieces. I think this very interesting this technology.

French intelligence services said there were two names suspects among the passengers aboard flight 447 according the Express site. According to the French site, it is names "related to people known for their connection with Islamic terrorism." Really? Speculation ... Speculation ...

The latest reports that North Korea plans to launch another ballistic missile scare. What can be done? The world can not be threatened so irresponsible.

Turning eight in Paris with your own Secret Service in tow-how cool! This First Family definitely puts family first. They are a positive model of what modern families can be. We need that as a nation.

Who cares if the pay as you go was thought of after all the spending? Anything to curb this massive debt generations will pay for is welcome. Maybe if they have boundaries, they'll think before they throw our money away. It sure did work in the 1990's during the Clinton administration. Bring it back if it helps.

North Korea is a entity unto themselves. We've handled situations like this before. We're apparently handling them again. I'm glad it's Hillary Clinton in charge of the State Department right now. She's got it under control.

It's really says something about our Presidential family when they all take time to celebrate their daughter Sasha's eighth birthday! As far as the GOP's jumping all over the Pay-As-You-Go health care program, when these bums think nothing of uping the defense spending to half of our GDP,sounds a familiar ring of "Butter for Guns",or should it be "Guns for Butter"? These Republicans could care less about the poor in our country,as long as they can enlist them in their military to keep their fortunes safe, that they made ironically off the backs of these poor! For shame! PS. Go President Obama,...

Sure, now that there is no money and he has already wasted trillions of dollars on pork and a few temporary jobs paid for by taxpayers. Trainees will make mistakes!!

If we do the "pay-as-you-go" deal like Obama wants then we won't be doing hardly any of his campaign promises because we sure can't pay for much more. I mean look at health care...we definitely can't pay for that as we go. But hey..he breaks promises every day so what's new about that!? Funny though that he wants to pay-as-you-go after spending trillions of dollars.

    N. Korea is just ratcheting up trying to get attention. They know that with them causing a scene and holding the journalists in prison that they can get some major cash and less sanctions thrown upon them. We are playing right into their hands.
