@LiteralK I have refused treatment too. Not giving him an excuse, but it does screw with the mind even more when you know there is treatment. He might have not gone and done something so bad if he got some help.

He should've never killed the man, he was just doing his job...

    @ Mike, Syracuse, NY

That doesn't justify the shameful political assassination of Dr. Tiller.

You'd think that if Scott Roeder were in a legitimate politcal organization, someone in that organization might have helped him to find help.

Is he pleading guilty or not guilty at this point, I'm sorry I didn't catch that. Yes, I'm sure his family is terribly hurt by all of this.

Nancy Reagan is so aged ... this means that the years are also going for me ... 🙂

I feel very sorry for Ms. Roeder and her son. I'm sure this is a very difficult time for them.

    @Jasmine
    He refused treatement.

But why an anti-abortion supporter would believe that this man did not have the right to live, as opposed to a fetus is proof of this man's utter stupidity.

Thank you Anderson for using compassion and professionalism–allowing Lindsey Roeder speak freely without interruption. That was a great (and important) interview.

@Isabel "how someone against abortion and on behalf of life, kills a person."

The rationale is that by taking one life you save hundreds or even thousands.

His defense better not try an insanity plea. The man planned this murder and knew exactly what he was doing.

Good for Nancy Reagan for going to the White House! It's good to see her out and about.

I can understand how someone can take a while to get help for mental disorders. I am bipolar and still find it troubling....

Really fascinating how the human mind works...

@Casey, they knew within a reasonable area where Titanic went down. Also the wreckage is pretty well contained. The floating wreckage they found would have drifted from where the aircraft went down, plus it was probably scattered. Yes they have the technology to find it, if they want to invest the time and effort.

I can't imagine how hard all of this must be for Lindsey Roeder to talk about this and absorb all that he's done. She gets major kudos for doing this interview.

obsessive/compulsive disorder is a better diagnosis than schizophrenia for this man.

You make an excellent point. If pressure was lost in the cabin of the plane, everyone may have lost conciousness!

Evening Anderson, Erica, everyone. I'm sorry to hear the Air France flight is being declared lost at sea, my thoughts and prayers go out the friends and family of people on that flight.

Tom Foreman says that the plane sent out equipment reports to a computer for four minutes. Are those reports monitored or do they come up on the screen of someone monitoring.?

I just have trouble understanding a person who proposes to be pro life... Kill someone. That is an oxymoron!!!

@Mike, Syracuse...You'd think if they can find china from the Titanic they would be able to find the black boxes, wouldn't you?

My blessings go out to the families of the Air France Flight 447. Please be well.

Mr. Roeder is quite collected in his demeanor.

It is beyond tragic that he killed the Doctor!

  28. Casey Jones, Palm Springs, CA

@Rikki...the guy is a little nuts, unofficially. From what little we've heard he is not a rational person.

    June 2, 2009 at 10:05 pm |
  29. Esma

Would we expect Scott Roeder to be anything but a passive aggressive jerk? He's a sick, sick individual.

Very good to know that the murderer of Dr. George Tiller has been charged with first-degree murder. He can to be with an unbalanced person.

Given the water depth and how spread out the wreckage is, it will be very hard to find the black boxes to help figure out what happened.
