Hasn't the government been in a partnership with GM for decades already -- by allowing GM to classify its larger passenger vehicles as trucks with the clear, tacitly agreed objective of avoiding conformance with fuel efficiency and safety standards? This proved so profitable that GM voluntarily exited the car business. So funding GM now is like funding a start up in a market with gross overcapacity.

Thank you, Anderson Cooper for the GM's map and how they rank in jobs around the US. That was very informative and gives us an extraordinary view of their success and failure in every state.

According President Obama the GM will strengthen the process of composition. So is the end of an era for the beginning of another era, where the company will be modernizing, will be sustainable and environmentally correct.
