I still have mixed feeling re: economy, but mostly our debt.
also concerned about "jobless recovery."
I agree with David G. -Geithner does seem to be presenting stronger and speaking in words i can understand..
Employers are hiring for employees slowly.
The job less rate here i high too .So many factories are closing eg:John Deere I will lose my job at the end of Oct ober .
My kids are white, Ali, but theydon't have job security.
Happy to hear the economy is going back up! Maybe the prices in dog food will now go back down........
People are hired by the Federal Government to work on the census every 10 years.... and sometimes by local governments in between when they call for a special census.
While jobless numbers are scary - always remember that even if 10% are unemployed - 90% are employed.....
Anderson and Ali,
There is a possibility the unemployment rate to reach two digits until the end of the year.
Isn't the economy improving? Aren't the projections positive for the second half? Why the unemployment rate does not follow that way?

so happy to hear that the gunman from the Wesleyan shootings is in police custody.
So the unemployment rate for those with college degrees is 4.4%...how many of those employed are actually using that degree that cost them 30K+?
I hope economy will going up and up and up, Hopefully, we need our more money back.
Yay! I am less likely to become unemployed.... that's good, right?

I feel so grateful to have a recession-proof job. Our law firm does an increasing business in bankruptcy. That has definitely NOT gone down at all, slthough fore3closures are down i nour area.
overall the trend does seem to be upward – obama should be claiming credit for this – things are in motion instead of just sitting there – the economy may not be fixed but it is heading in the right direction. what do you think?
I don't feel like we're bouncing back. I feel we will crawl back. Slowly, cautiously, nervously hiding from anyone who wants us to buy a dwelling....
Half a million people losing their jobs is a good sign? Almost sounds like a bit of a oxymoron....

The fires are worse out here now. The weather is so much warmer for longer periods of time. It makes the brush very dry and it only takes a cigarette butt or a lightning strike to start off a huge wildfire.
I'm not liking CA weather anymore. Every day it's over 85 degrees here I know the Artic ice cap is just melting a little faster. And yet, we all ignore it.
I good to hear that the economy seems to be getting better.
Let's hope things do not get worse. Perhaps unemployment
will not reach 10 %.
