Tonight on AC360°, should pot be legalized and taxed? Text 360 with your questions/comments on this hot topic. Just be sure to type AC in the message and sent it to 94553. California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger spoke about the possibility yesterday. "I'm always for an open debate on it (legalization). And, I think we ought to study very carefully what other countries are doing that have legalized marijuana and other drugs, what effect did it have on those countries?," he said. Keep in mind, California is hurting for cash during this recession, like many other states. Could legalizing pot help fix some of the money woes?

Keep in mind, you have a better chance of having your comment get past our moderators if you follow our rules.

Here are some of them:

1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

Marijuana is the least harmful substance their is. Much less harmful than cigarettes, alcohol, and even most over-the-counter medications...

Ok, Let's compare this to alcohol. How many people die every year because of drinkin and driving? How many more times does a person feel comfortable to pick up their keys after they have a drink compared to smoking a joint? You will hear of this happening more with alcohol than with pot. You take 30 people; 15 to drink and 15 smoke and see what the difference will be! I think alot of people will be shocked.
If you legalize it then yes there needs to be restrictions to it just like alcohol, cigarettes and prescription meds.

Why would we not want to ADD a domestic farming industry that would employ people, stop sending money to feed Mexican violence, and be controlled like alcohol which is most often the violent drug?

I think legalizing pot isn't as bad as someone taking to many hard drugs, and alot of pain pills. When someone is in pain instead of using narcotics and getting hooked on them, I would much reather them us pot.

People make such a big deal, and it its'nt as bad as being hooked on beer or harder stuff.

Abigail, cold/flu remedies back as recently as the early 20th century contained a high percentage of alcohol... for starters.

Miss. California has capitalized on her publicity, yet doesn't want the results of heightened attention. She signed a morality clause, yet posed semi-nude. Hypocrisy. As for the pageant paying for her implants, this just goes to show that the pageant is plastic. When are we going to admire real, unadultered beauty, rather than all the "falsies" (pun intended) out there?

No one should drive under the influence of anything!!! or angry, emotional, tired, sick, poor vision, distracted... etc. They all could cause accidents and kill others

Good Lord, what is happening to our society? Are people really vicious? There are people who are really after Miss Califonia–not only hate her for speaking her mind but also will do anything to destroy her.

I would like correct the statement from Mr. Walters (?), the former drug czar under President Bush. There are not more marijuana dispensaries than Starbucks in our city of San Francsico. There are between 27 and 31 listed Cannabis Clubs in SF, there are many more Starbucks than 31. He should check his information before putting this great city in a bad light.
