Tonight on AC360°, stunning allegations of highway robbery in a small Texas town. Dozens of drivers claim they've been held up for cash, cars and jewelry. Even more shocking is who some victims are blaming – the police who deny the accusations against them.

The Tenaha, Texas story was unbelievable. What is this 1950s? These cops should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
So now the cops in Texas are robbing the general public, Sounds like were turning into Mexico, more and more, everyday! Imagine that!
corrupt cops does not surprise me anymore.
Evening Anderson, Erica, everyone. Very sorry to hear of this young woman dying because of swine flu. This was soon after she gave birth? Very sad, my thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.
OMG! That is so embarrassing! Att David Guillory is from Nac.TX and is a friend of mine. He is a super guy! Thanks for keeping them honest! We need a lot of help around here! XO
Gary Tuchman
Excellent report!! Well worth waiting for. I have heard reports about this before, but without the many details you have provided tonight.
This would appear to be an outrage! Unfortunately, we don't know the actual laws they are using.
I am very hopeful that these people WIN their class action suit!
So what happened to the money? Who got how much? It's surprising that no one fought back before now.
LOL! I'm sorry – that lady/DA singing is funny. Bizarre maybe is more the right word.
Wow, this story just gets weirder and weirder...and we thought all the pirates were in Somalia.
Of course he doesn't remember. He's probably done this to so many people they all seem the same to him. Outrageous!!!
This is America, right?
This is an outrage. I want to see the DA, and the Policeman and Everyone else involved fired and jailed for 20 + years . The charge at the least should be Abuse of Power, Fraud, and Breaking and Entering.
Dang,, this is appauling. Where are the good cops, good officials.
This story is making me absolutely infuriating me. No wonder cops get such a bad rep because of cops like this. Absolutely ridiculous....
That policeman should be ashamed of himself! Shame on you!!
evening Anderson, Erica and everyone at AC360 tonite.
@Anderson – thanks for pointing out that you don't want to add any hype to the H1N1 story, there are already too many people freaking out over this and we don't need anyone trying to add to it. thank you.
And society wonders why our young adults and teenagers have no respect for law enforcement?
I want to travel through Hwy 59 at 84 with a hidden camera rolling.
Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone!
Anderson is that you using Erica's avatar again?
@Anderson Cooper
Are you using the login of the Erica Hill again?
This is a great investigation by Gary Tuchman – how shameful it is for some elements in law enforcement to perpetrate criminal acts – these bad cops to be removed and prosecuted for their actions.
Heeey! Everyone Happy Cinco de Mayo!
I can't believe some Texan police officers actually pull people off just to rob them! such a shame!
I can't believe the police are like that. How horrifying! Who should we trust??
This story with the crooked police, et al, is really extreme.

Cops like this give the rest a bad name. What's being done to stop this?
The robbery story reminds me of the custom's officials on the borders of certain Eastern European countries.
