Tonight on 360°, bullied to death. A child taunted at school takes his own life. Who's to blame?

And could the school have stopped the teasing? Carl Joseph Walker Hoover’s mom says kids taunted him saying "you act gay" and "you look gay." Today thousands of students across America participated in a Day of Silence to draw attention to anti-gay harassment in schools. We’ll have all the angles.

And, don't miss Erica Hill's webcast on bullying and tonight's other headlines during the commercials. Watch our WEBCAST

President Obama will have Chavez in his hand, soon. Chavez is all about bravado and ego and our President is massaging his ego.

    HI Andeerson,

Why can't these ships go in a convoy with military or paid security escort? I believe that is what was done in war time.

That's why people traveled in wagon trains and not single crossings in the old west-for better protection.

Probably why they travelled in caravans in biblical times, as well.

Sad story on the little boy who committed suicide because of bullying. Think there have been bullies around forever, however it seems to have been taken to a new level. I think schools need to be involved, but so do parents - empowering their children to be self confident enough to understand the one bullying is the one with the problem, not the one being bullied.

Get the pirates before they attack. Provide reward money to those who inform us when pirates leave from land.

While the conservative woud e happier to see Obama ignoring Chavez – it is in our best interest that President Obama gets long with everyone, and turns them to our side for a change. Bravo.

Regarding the Hijacking going on, I was wondering why no one has concidered using a similar technique to what was used during WWII using convoys or grouping of several ships who could then be escorted by navy ships of various countries? Granted the logistics of doing this would be daunting but certainly the lesser of two evils. It would offer much more coverage (protection) with far fewer navel ships.

@mike and @brandi – poor health or some other factors can let pregnancies go unnoticed until... well, the woman delivers the baby.

that would be just terrifying! i feel so bad for that woman!

How about as a sign of good faith, some concrete action by Castro like realeasing the 250 political prisoners he has locked up?

Our son was bullied in junior high and it was so painful to see him suffer. We talked to the principal numerous times. The only way if finally got settled was when we called the police and told the bullying kids parents that we were pressing charges for assault. That also got the attention of the school. After a a brutal year at school it was finally stopped. Schools just give lip service to this problem.

I'd love if we can mend the fence with Cuba, and I'd be even more thrilled if this can translate to other countries around the world.
On a semi-side note, Chavez is quite a character.

Piracy – Why not have merchant ships travel in a convoy, protected by several navy ships from various countries......In this way the pirates wouldn't be able to board isolated ships that are too far away from a Navy escort.

Hi, everyone – what a Friday! A lot of interesting news and a lot of energy here in NY... not sure if it's the news, the fact that it's Friday – and pay-day Friday at that!, or the gorgeous spring weather, but it seems everyone around here has an extra sping in their step.

Oh, and Jack Gray's sister is here visiting!

It's about time! We should always have been done with Cuba long ago. It coud havde been a suburb of Miami by now, if our government had had any gumption. There's money to be made here

The first step in stopping the victimization of children who are bullied because someone decides they are "gay", is to recognize that gays are genetically predetermined and that they must be given all the rights of every citizen.

Canada has done so and as a high school teacher I see this type of harrassment diminshing. Even teachers on are staff have acknowledged their sexual preference and there has been absolutely no backlash from students, staff or parents.

Still have no idea why when ships are being attacked, they don't call on the USS Boxer or another ship with fighter planes and have them send out some Harriers that travel 700mph to take care of the pirates. Even with the size of the area, they could reach the scene in less than an hour.

Regarding the pirate problem off the coast of Somalia. I understand there is a multi-national force patrolling but are the using a system of protection similar to the convoys of WW II? It would seem protected convoys would make sense.

This year is shaping up to be the year of the courageous captains. First Captain Scully now Captain Phillips. Here we have two true Average Joes doing incredible things when faced with adversity. Who need an action figure when you’ve got the real thing.

Hugo Chavez...about as sane as Edi Amin. Rebuilding a relationship with Cuba is WAY overdue. To those who have issues relative to human rights abuses, remember the only way to affect change is to engage the offender and re-store the relationship, first.

Well, CNN did not win Twitter challenge, a little sad. But the Malaria No More charity got its deserve donation anyway. It was a good and fun race.

Don't be so sad, Anderson. You did your part the best. Oh..and Erica, too. I was worry about you, too. You were so excited to win yesterday. 🙂

I am so happy for Captain Phillips to be back to his warming home. There is no place like home.

Now lets pray for other people held by pirates and US Navy oversea. Thanks David for the report.

Hi Anderson LTNS. The pilot said the military were the heros but, if he hadn't gave himself all of them would've been tied up. The young man who killed himself was so sad. That's what happens when we let schools babysit our children.

I was harassed day in and day out in middle school. Came close, to going off the brink. Schools have a zero tolerance policy but they don't enforce it. You have to have exact proof to get the school to be on your side.....
