Applaud the efforts to get these guys back to where they belong,and rescues that often fail (but for now should continue) as they often re-beach themselves.
The "why" they do it is more important, and we seem not to know.
But a good starting "GUESS" might be the changing temperatures of ocean currents arising from global warming and so called El Nino effects around the globe.
People better educated on this subject than might have better ideas but the "why" is the issue. Then we can maybe do something really effective.

I hope the whale can be coaxed back into the ocean. I wonder why the whale has strayed so far from the ocean; this sort of thing is becoming really common, especially in Australia with pilot whales – some have been able to be saved but a lot have died. I hope we aren't getting the same problem here.
