AC360° Senior Producer
One of the many great things about being a producer at AC360° is our fantastic view. Our office is on the seventh floor of the Time Warner Center and is rimmed with a wall of windows. We have a gorgeous view of Central Park and the East side of Manhattan.
Another great perk is that we often interact with celebrities and newsmakers everyday. Most of the time it’s part of the job, but sometimes it’s in passing, not connected to work, like in the hallway or in the elevator and then it feels like a bit of a thrill.
Today, the two came together. There was a bit of commotion in our large newsroom when we saw cameras and lights being set up out on the balcony ledge right outside. As journalists we are a naturally curious bunch, so immediately we all started craning our necks to see who was being interviewed. Who is it? What’s going on out there? They’re interviewing a guy with a bun!
Maria figured it out first, that it was Chris Cornell, grunge pioneer and lead singer of the now defunct Soundgarden and Audio Slave. Immediately the office was abuzz. Oh, I loved them! They sang this or that! We all took a brief trip down memory lane, back over a decade to the heyday of grunge.
I don’t know why he’s out there or what they’re talking about, but it was a cool moment. Now, back to work.

Soundgarden was, in my opinion, the most musically talented band of the grunge movement. Their style was very unique, incorporating elements of progressive rock, metal, and even psychedelia. An absolutely brilliant band. Superunknown is among my top 10 albums of all time. I eagerly await Chris Cornell's next project, and if it is a reunion with Kim Thayil, Ben Sheppard and Matt Cameron (who is currently in Pearl Jam), well, that would just be the cat's pajamas!
I love the inside look at your work... it's really cool.
Wow. U must really enjoy going to work in the mornings. haha, sounds like fun.
Tree-Top vantage points give little insight to whats above; but graciously anticipates ones' descent; ironically bringing perception into the realm of self-consciousness,...
you people need to spread the luckiness to Spokane....... That's really cool!
Office with a view – sounds like quite a view too. You're lucky – most of us work in cubicles with no access to seeing outside. You almost feel like you're underground at times, but when tornadoes roll through in the spring we have at least one reason to be grateful for no windows.
The coolest thing is that you get to meet people most of us only read about. I think a lot of us would have reacted the same way you did at the "celeb" sighting. Sometimes going to work turns out cool!!
You are the gincyies.(which means very cool0.
