Tonight on AC360°, we’ll look at President Obama’s campaign promise to fight for gay rights – a promise that’s being put to the test. He’s getting pressure to do away with the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy, which bars gays from serving openly in the military. Mister Obama says he plans to scrap the policy, but he’s already getting push-back. He’s also under pressure to expand health-benefits for same-sex spouses. The White House says the president supports repealing the Defense of Marriage Act, a move that would remove one obstacle in the battle. He’s also being warned by conservatives that moving now on these issues will alienate a lot of people. What do you think? We want to keep tonight’s live blog on this one topic. So, please share your thoughts on equal rights for gays and lesbians below.

And, don't miss Randi Kaye's webcast on gay rights during the commercials. Watch our WEBCAST

Keep in mind, you have a better chance of having your comment get past our moderators if you follow our rules.

Here are some of them:

1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")

2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)

3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)

4) No links

5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

And take a look at our live web camera from the 360° studio. Watch the WEBCAM

I don't see any differerence between gay or straight. Gays are human beings too and not criminals. Condemn the criminals and put them all in jail. People should accept everyone with equality. God created all human beings equal. Bible was written by human beings not God and no such thing as sin or being gay is sin. A lot of time, they're more intellectual and highly educated than straight.

Interesting report from Sanjay. Having had surgery many times and knowing what it cost, I would have to give that some thought.

Civil rights should be exactly that, civil! What President Obama understands is that human rights are for all humans. We dispelled long ago the myth that separate but equal is equal. Why should it matter if your black, white, gay, straight, green, yellow, or alien. No human deserves to be treated like they are anything less. Go Obama!
