I think many people had enough of octomom. Now..we have octodad, too? Why would he want to come out and claim that he is the father when octomom really received the death threat?
The problem with letting market prices go down is that publicly-owned businesses are most likely going to be scratching for ways to maximize their investors' return... and that means job cuts. 🙁

I think the government really needs to realize what true capitalism is and let AIG fail. They are due to report a 60 billion dollar loss. It is alright for companies to fail. We must not be afraid to let companies fail, because these bailouts further the pain.

Ed Henry: President Obama always ends his speeches with a historical overview of how Americans in the past have overcome obstacles and come out stronger in the end. He also states with confidence that America will do the same in overcoming the economic crisis.
Green food is fantastic (minus the spinach). Although I never understood squash...*shudders*

I hope so, we can help people for healthcare and they couldn't afford to pay insurance or healthcare.
The money used for the helicoipters can be used to help the people in need where the DHl workers were laid off and waiting for food supplies.
In order to get the economy going we need people to spend money. People can't spend money with high credit card debt due to high interest rates.
No spending = no buying = no jobs. Fix this and problem solved.
im interested in hearing what is reported about our Governor Jindal and his take on the stimulus money.

Good evening everyone. Killer day. I like that Pres. Obama opened up the floor to those guys.
By denying his state the much needed funds that the stimulus lends out, he is essentially forcing them to watch as other states improve there condition in life as they're left watching and wishing like a Jehovah's Witness child at his schools christmas secret santa.
Sure the gift is there, but you can't participate.
What a President! I truly appreciate President Obama making clear that the Republicans have to be constructive if they expect to be included.
For those who are relatively young (say around age 41) I'm sure the stock market will be fine in a few years and they will recover much of their losses.
If republicans are going to be critical it would nice to have them be constructive. Ed Henry's report suggested that one of them said to Obama that he wouldn't succeed. Why couldn't he elaborate on that aspect and encourage him to FIND a way to succeed?
I like that Obama took questions from congress but he should have done this when doing the stimulus bill.

Joe Barton has a good point. You can't let Pelosi and her cohorts write bills without Republican input then expect their support.
