Good evening and welcome to the AC360 Academy Awards Live Blog. The winners, the losers, Jack Nicholson’s sunglasses…we’ve got your running commentary. And sure, considering all that’s going on in the world, the Oscars aren’t hugely important. But if you’re looking to get away from the bleak news-of-the-day for a few hours, then this blog is the place for you.
We should also point out that we’re not encouraging you to change the channel from CNN, but if you’re going to watch the Oscars anyway, you might as well watch them with us.
And even if you’re not watching them, because of your feud with Kate Winslet or whatever, we think you’ll still enjoy the live blog. I’ll be with you from 8:00pm Eastern Time until the Oscars finish airing here in New York.

alright, all of you hecklers...I got the 8:00 start time from the Oscars website...don't make me throw my champagne at you.
I thought Anderson was more of a 'baked lays' type of guy since its much more heart healthy. I bet he's munching on some baked lays. Erica is probably eating a fruit salad or a tuna salad – something healthy.

Meryl Streep is just the best. She and her daughter were adorable. So sweet of her to bring her daughter. Aw. Loved Mamma Mia...good times.

marisa's dress is 'interesting'.
The reason Miley Cyrus is there I'm assuming is because she is one of the voices in the animated movie Bolt. Bolt is also up for a best song nominated. She sang one of the songs in the move with John Travolta, not sure if that's the one which is nominated though. (TMI!!)

Why do we need a timeline of Penelope Cruz's dresses?
I hope Frost/Nixon and The Visitor gets some awards. They were very good and alot of the actors are staples in the community...no one gives them enough attention.

@Ashley: I'm going to miss Jon Stewart too. Hugh's fine and all, but it's hard to beat Jon.
I guess they put the Disney kids to kinda "appeal" to the yung 'uns..it's not working cuz my 7yr old thinks these shows are boring

Jack – Katharine Hepburn is my idol. She was so far ahead of her time and so "brassy". Full of chutzpuh. I adored her. The best part is that my Mom is very much like her. 🙂
