Good evening and welcome to the AC360 Academy Awards Live Blog. The winners, the losers, Jack Nicholson’s sunglasses…we’ve got your running commentary. And sure, considering all that’s going on in the world, the Oscars aren’t hugely important. But if you’re looking to get away from the bleak news-of-the-day for a few hours, then this blog is the place for you.
We should also point out that we’re not encouraging you to change the channel from CNN, but if you’re going to watch the Oscars anyway, you might as well watch them with us.
And even if you’re not watching them, because of your feud with Kate Winslet or whatever, we think you’ll still enjoy the live blog. I’ll be with you from 8:00pm Eastern Time until the Oscars finish airing here in New York.

It's probably not necessary to show EVERY category during the broadcast – it kind of drags it down.

When I saw Pineapple Express at midnight in New York...the entire theater was one big cloud of marijuana. So I just held my breath for the entire hour.

"We like you just as you are" - that quote always reminds me of Bridget Jones for some reason. I'm not comparing Jack to Bridget Jones though. I'm just saying....
No Jack they haven't. Like I said earlier I think they have too many categories. It's getting a little boring. Where's Hugh? I need him to come back on the screen to sing and dance again. lol

JoAnn, I really hope Heath Ledger wins something too. At the end of the movie, The Joker was not even a character anymore. Heath Ledger made it real!
I've heard that he actually locked himself in a hotel for a month to create the voice and the persona of the Jocker. I don't know if it's true.
Have they even done Best Supporting Actor yet? Sweet mother of Pearl.

No, Arbor Mist is that fruity light bottle wine – that is very affordable. It comes in peach chardonnay, strawberry zinfandel, and lots of other fun flavors.

@Dulcie, Hey, don't dog the Aretha's hat. That hat was what I like to call a "Church Hat". I loved it. But Jessica's dress is terrible.

@Ashley-Joaquin's just acting (don't tell anyone!), it for a mockumentary that his BFF and brother-in-law Casey Affleck is shooting...it's a sorta Andy Kaufman throw back...for those of you old enough to remember.
